Cleaner of 20 years here and I dig it how you go back with the wand and straight back up and since you gotta move the wand back up anyways to start meet cleaning pass you may as well go right back over what you cleaned instead of in a diagonal direction. I love everything, except for ONE thing. That must be the most annoying way, for the Zipper to retract, all day long. It's like SLAMMING it down, 50x per job. It should have a "retract" unlock/lever near the handle, to GENTLY lower it, rather than SLAMMING the unit down on concrete slab tons of times per day. The zipper is a 10/10 design, except for that one overlooked design flaw.

We take our shoes off at the door and will proceed through the home without shoes. Unless there are areas of contamination that we would remain in shoes. You of course want to have good clean socks on, but it does make an impression also on people to take your shoes off at their door. We also try to avoid wearing shoes until we start the carpet cleaning process with prespray and Hot water extraction. Booties just slow us down and also do not have much grip in some areas.

It's the same set up for the high pressure system as in this video. If you were replacing a van radiator or butler heat exchanger, they are still the same also, but it takes quite a bit of work to bleed the van motor system especially with dual heat exchanger systems (High Heat Butlers)

Hello mark.I hope you are well today I have a question,which product from the spotting kit is good for removing mold stains from an upholstery thank you
@MarkSaiger4 күн бұрын
Upholstery is one of the more difficult items to just say "use this" as there can be so many variations of materials to deal with. The other concern is mold itself on any fabric could hold other health concerns that at times could require replacmemt for everyone to be safe. We have seen some upholstery in storage that have had mold develop on the pieces and we will not accept the liability and responsibilities to clean it. We know there could be health issues. Now if there is a spot that has just developed mold on some soil, we would Start by cleaning the piece in that area and access if we should proceed further. Peroxide based products can help such as our Just Like Magic, but again that could be pretty strong for some fabrics, especially natural fabrics. Hydrogen peroxide from uptown in the brown bottle is 3 percent vs our Just Like Magic which is 9.9 percent. That could be a safer alternative for some fabrics. The biggest thing I would stress with this situation is caution for you and your clients. I hope this bit of information can be helpful. Thank you for your question 😊

Hey Mark Currently in the market for a good camera tripod so I can film my carpet cleans, just wondering how you deal with low light situations? I find often my footage is unusable or would make for a really poorly lit video that wouldn't be that engaging. Have you ever had this issue? And how do you get around it if so?
@MarkSaiger5 күн бұрын
For a carpet Tripod, I've been using a Tycka Tripod since 2021. It's been doing pretty well for me and I use it a lot. I got if off Amazon. It's a 56 inch unit. For Camera gear and low light, I so know what you mean. I shoot with a Canon R6 with a Canon 14-35 Zoom lens that works well in low light...but if you have not updated to a camera yet, I got the guys the Osmo Pocket 3 with the Vlogger kit and also an extra wireless mic for dual mic. That thing is amazing! (Dont' get Osmo 1 or 2 by the way, not as good at all) The 3 is great in low light, awesome because the gimbal with it, and just has amazing lens and photo quality...some voodoo stuff going on with that little camera 😂. I'm tempted to buy that same camera to have with me for quick shoot and go stuff. I can tell you the GoPro is terrible in low light by the way. We have those also, and don't use them much at all anymore. The Osmo Pocket 3 can even follow you with tracking. Let me know if other questions. By the way, audio is a big part of the video too, which is a super challenge at times with all the noise and suction our equipment has. The Osmo Pocket 3 audio wireless mics are pretty good. For my audio, I love my Rode Wireless Pro microphones. Really incredible sound and performance overall.
@hikelfin59415 күн бұрын
@MarkSaiger Really appreciate the response. Yeah I was worried I would have to upgrade to a camera, I've tried a GoPro but it just absolutely doesn't cut it like you said. I feel like we should be at an age where having an iPhone 15 or so should be as good as a camera which is really frustrating. I have to take my normal phone and my work phone which both are latest model phones and I can't use either of them to film?! C'mon ELON OR WHOEVER YOU ARE, TIM APPLE 😡 I'm currently using the Rode wireless mics which are great for sound but I'll check out the Osmo 3. Funny you mention the Tycka, I wasn't familiar with the name but I just Googled it and it's the exact one I've had my eye on 🤣 so that's good confirmation. Do you reckon a cheap DLSR for now would be better than a phone? Like maybe a Nikon D3500 or something with 35-70mm lens?
@MarkSaiger5 күн бұрын
A DLSR Camera can be good on a tripod with the correct settings and f stop, but they are not as good for stability when moving with them. I have decent stsbil in my R6 and lens stability added, but it's still a challenge compared to the Osmo Pocket 3 or even a good cellphone today.

I wonder if I’d be easier for you guys to get a vacuum that gets the edges better. I know my sebo with the ET-1 power head is designed to suck in things from the edges and boy does it ever! I haven’t needed to use the crevice tool since getting it. But they are bagged so they wouldn’t be as fun to watch as the workhorse. Would love to hear your thoughts.
@HygienistDentist5 күн бұрын
Sebo makes their super portable upright, the Felix with the ET-1 power head. I have the D4 by sebo. Same power head but it’s in a canister which would be too bulky perhaps 🤷🏻♂️
@MarkSaiger5 күн бұрын
We do like a canister to keep an eye on what's coming out, but Sebo makes great vaccums. This carpet would have probably needed a crevice tool yet due to the amount of debris down deep and the bigger problem of the carpet needing stretching so there was a pretty tall hump on all the edges. But we don't crevice tool all places. This place unfortunately needed one. Also sometimes we find we need to crevice tool because the homeowner vaccum isn't able to get out these edges so there can be more then a years build up causing soil filtration.

@@klwthe3rd hot water extraction is the same thing as Steam Cleaning. There are different machines and chemistry that can help with cleaning. Truckmounts can clean pretty incredible, but they also are not all the same. Some with smaller blowers and such, a portable might do a better job. Also, I can do a lot of cleaning even with OP VLM (Very Low Moisture) cleaning. Each carpet cleaning situation can dictate what kind of method and equipment and chemistry can give good results. I would see if there might be a company that others are happy with and reccomend for their cleaning. It might be you have not found the right one for you yet. There are sometimes we only do one single pass cleaning, but we always do follow up with dry passes which are another cleaning pass, and we will watch and see if more cleaning passes should be done. So it can really come down to the person or who trained the person doing the cleaning. There are carpet cleaning nerds (like us 😁) out there who really care to do the best job. Wish we were in your area so we could personally help out and or maybe know of someone who cleans like us. When calling a company, I would ask what they typically use for equipment.
