7:25 This part if TLOVM gets that far is going to be bitter. Scanlan arguing with himself mentally before he whispers, "I'm sorry, Vax..." Then he wails out a discordant note on his guitar as he screams " *NEIN* !" Vecna flinches and glares at him in furious terror. 😢

I think the answer is sorry... This was one of Scanlans most important scenes and one of the most defining moments in all of CR. Honestly don't know what they were thinking

@@SizzoxI think the reason it didn’t happen was cause Pike was there and noticed what was going on. She was helping him and encouraging him to go see Kaylie. If Ashley was there in the campaign maybe 85 would have gone differently?

That ninth level counter is maybe the most iconic spell cast since Karsus' Folly. So good for so many reasons, but one of my favorites that's always overlooked is how consistently Scanlan was the one keeping enemies from running from VM during fights. "You leave when Burt Reynolds says you can fucking leave" etc. This is the ultimate culmination of that

5:06-5:34 a masterclass of playing a character who is cunning and knows exactly what buttons to press to get what she wants. The tone of voice, the hands at the end, her little girl smile: she knows EXACTLY what she's doing.

Planned and always a part of the character, according to Taliesin on a later Talks episode. He had by this point resigned himself to it probably never coming up (he'd only want it to if it happened organically) and was pleased when this NPC gave him an opportunity. (And then fans asked on twitter if Cad was aromantic as well as ace, whereupon Taliesin rather adorably went "hang on, let me double check with my younger cooler friends how these terms are used now" before confirming that yes, both applied XD )
