Had the crime of passion existed under British law Ruth would have never been hanged. Her lover was an upper classe pimp and was living off of her earnings. Dreadful the way that bourgois judge treaded her, no compassion at all.

Ms. Hale looks very familiar to me. Although I don't know where/what I would have seen her in. (I'm an American from the GenX era.) Very pretty lady and seems to be a great actress.

Do British judges and barristers still wear wigs? I would assume that would be incredibly annoying...and itchy. 🥴

Billy Connelly, Elaine C Smith and Johnny Beattie analyse very well what contributed to Chic's unique style. One point not mentioned yet is that Chic's 'pit oan' accent was very clearly intended to make fun of the many working class Scots who tried to pass themselves off as 'posh', or 'middle class'. The 1950s and 1960s were still rife with petty social class distinction, where one class looked down on the other, genuinely feeling they were 'better'. Children and parents of big families were one target for these social snobs. Chic, through his hilarious remarks, takes the snobs and their pretensions to the cleaners. I think his 'bunnet' is intended to suggest that the snobs often can't escape their roots, by firgetting that posh people seldonm wear bunnets.

This is a very good script and a well-made movie. One thing that brings it down is the music. It is contstantly interrupting the scenes, too loud. Lotsa horns and drums. Also, it sounds like a TV show soundtrack.

Errol Flynn is unrivalled to this very day and still remembered 65 years after his death. God bless him, there will never by another actor with his on screen presence. He had everything we love in our hero's.

Phoebe Cates was awful in this. Laughably so. The only saving graces of this mid-80's cheesefest were Brooke Adams and Bess Armstrong. (4:06 A lesbian cougar making a pass at a "teenager?" I did not remember that at all! That's pretty risqué for 1984 TV.)

In the gta verse, this country called Draka by the South Indian Ocean is an axis supporter but didn’t actually declare war against the USA or Brazil. Unlike Germany, Japan, and Italy. There was a civil war that occured and the fascist party won Draka and the axis nations would end up going to Draka because the axis sympathy is strong there. They also had German networks for the war criminals to exile to Draka and establish a fourth Reich. Event he favors that had the fascists win their civil war were of axis interests and even ruling a nation that no longer makes them rule the fatherland. But instead the new world. And they do gain favors in a new nation. Even policies and influence lean fascist. Brazil and its smaller group of Allie’s knows about this. But the United States are too busy with rivaling against the Soviet Union to care against Draka. If anything, Draka are influencing both sides to turn on against each other

12apr2024 Relentless.-1 .1977.(W Sampson.Markham.Hillerman.Marianna Hill.[Katzin]{Garfield.Rolfe.wrt.’death wish’.nov._6.9_1h30_/ An Arizona state trooper, who is also an Indian, pursues a gang of paramilitary-type robbers into the mountains. The gang has killed the trooper's uncle and taken a woman hostage, and the trooper must use his tracking and hunting skills to find the gang and rescue the hostage./ This was Sampson's first starring bill and he proves effective as the towering laconic tracker. This could very well be the first film where a Native American plays a starring Indian hero. Production-wise, the movie's on par with "Pray for the Wildcats" (1974), but not as compelling, although it's notably superior to "Savages" (1974). The score is serviceable, but too bland 70s-ish, although it eventually throws in some good militaristic percussion. The story was taken from the book by the writer of "Death Wish" (1974). While "Relentless" doesn't rise to the excellence of that iconic movie, it's effective enough as a straightforward Western-in-the-modern-day and is worth checking out if you like the cast.// I read the Brian Garfield's book many times and I love it. But at my big surprise, this Tv movie is even more superior. Characterization is pulled at a higher level, especially when tle bad guys leader - the former Special forces in Nam officer - talks about his motivations; the audience feels nearly empathy for him. Terrific, I did not expect this and this is not in the novel. And the bad guy whistling or singing When Johnny Comes Marching Home, that was not in the novel either, and it's excellent for me, that brings a little touch in this topic after all not so new, I admit, but still very well made. You'll also notice offbeat camera angles very unusual for this kind of production. And the face to face between those two men, the Special Forces veteran, the master of military warfare, even in the wilderness, and this Indian, master himself too in tracking a prey in desert, woods, snow, anywhere, it's breathless for someone like me./// Another Good One: Relentless.-2.1989.Dead On.(Judd Nelson.R Loggia.L Rossi.Meg Foster.)[Will Rustig]{PA Robinson.wrt.Lemmo.ph.Jay Chattaway.msc}_5.9_1h34_
