I haven’t watch the show, but it sounds like to me. Whatever they are hunting is possibly a bigger threat than having psychos within their ranks. Even back in the day many armies had their psychopaths, I feel like it’s building onto something. Also funny you mention tropes/cliches. I try to think about what is relevant for the time and not try to bring modern things into it

Well from what I learned from the show, the whole reason he's evil and doesn't feel anything when killing is because of the character he made. For example, when he killed for the first time he usually would have been disgusted or disturbed but now in the body of his character he feels nothing about it. So not only did he take on the traits of the character (such as not needing to breathe, eat, or other human qualities), but he also took on its alignment as well, which is evil as we have seen.

It's still my pick for 'worst movie I've ever seen'. There are countless of films with worse effects, acting, and so on, but this one film was the butcher knife that cut through a fanbase and the golden goose while also feels like the beginning of 'the modern audience'/shill slop. This is a movie that has so many flaws with its characters, story, lore, cinematography, and just overall decision making that not one person could point it out but it needed a *community* to do so (and I *STILL* hear people pointing out new things after all these years); even giving rise to several KZbin careers, like Mauler, in contrast to costing Rian Johnson a trilogy and Disney billions in potential gains after backlash from fans and even casuals (like me).

I can definitely see that. I think it must be the most costly movie in existence if you take into accounts the potential lost revenue. If the movie had even been mediocre and Disney didn't attack the fans, you really have to wonder where it'd be now.

I just came across your video, and I want to thank you for your honesty. I put out reviews like these on a private FB group that is focused on Tolkien, and a group of people are fanboying and attacking me, for not willing to waste my time on LoTR fanfic and telling me I don't know what I'm talking about, for referring to reviews like yours! The group is extremely dedicated to Tolkien's works and his thinking, but even then this group of people dare to call me ignorant, etc. for pointing the blatant feminism, and calling WoRo a great film.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. To be clear, I wouldn't pretend to be an expert on Tolkien or LotR. I've read the books and seen the movies and hobbit trilogy but his views are pretty well established. For better or worse, there will be people who will defend anything from an IP they like. We've seen this already with star wars, marvel, etc. My general view is I want to like it but it depends on the story told. It's a bummer they're attacking you though. I'm curious to see what their opinions are in a couple months. From what I've seen, people will claim to love something but then a couple months later once the emotions have calmed down they'll criticize it or just straight up forget it exists. Good luck running that group. Sounds stressful lol

This is hands down the best review I’ve seen so far for this garbage of a movie. I was facepalming myself every other minute in the cinema. Still can’t believe I paid to watch a pre-premiere of this. Managed to sit through the end on sheer will. Hollywood is a dumpster fire that is beyond saving at this point.

The movie was okay from an enjoyment perspective. The animation was mid. From a LOTR perspective it’s bad. Sound design was mostly just stolen songs from the trilogy. The villain was dull. Main Character was dull. It’s a solid 4/10 maybe 5 or 6/10 if you ignore all the issues with LOTR lore.

yeah honestly a movie is ultimately only as good as it's villain and this one was so lame. Just boring and stupid. Why're you so mad cause your dad lost a fight? He started it. It was a fair fight. He lost. lol. Not sure if it was supposed to be to the death but it sure wasn't just a playful little slapboxing match. lol. I get that there's supposed to be more to it cause he's all pissed she rejected him but that's not really gone into much till later. In the initial part he just loses it cause pops got one punched into the afterlife. Understand you'd be emotional about it but swearing revenge to kill the whole family and killing the brother in cold blood and all that just made him look like a petty pouty little child.. Nobody would be wanting to follow a leader like that and it made me give fugg all about his motivations.. lol. Combine it with Hera who was also pretty boring and I found myself nodding off in the theater. I walked out about half way through. Just didn't care.

I felt it was suspicious when I saw the trailer. The animation looked horrible. Could we not have done better in the production at this stage of film making than that? Now I hear this woke nonsense about ultra woman leads, I will not watch this one. Thanks for the review. For those who want to 'modernize' LOTR, go make your own franchise and do that with bells on but leave us our beloved franchise intact. I want to enjoy the Tolkien world that I love just as it is, not a modern woke rendition of it. I thought these days were over.

If i saw it at home, id turn it off. However, theater was nice. As a lifelong fan of LOTR, i enjoyed it. Id prefer if Hera wasnt the main character, but i gotta disagree with you. Only Heras thing is the fastest rider. Her brothers outshine her in combat by a far.

Even at the end of it wasn’t for her maid, Wolf would have killed her. She’s gorgeous though. I’ll give her that. I think it’s more a case of women hate her because she’s super pretty. She is deemed to be one of the best swordsman in Rohan. She is the only one who even thinks that it could be a trap and single-handedly saves Edoras, making her brothers riding their pointless. She kills an Oliphant and saves Frealaf from an Oliphant. She is saved from Wolfs encampment, by her “Maid” running in the front door and single-handedly beating half the guards and Wolf. It’s bad. Hera is clearly meant to overshadow everyone and is framed as the lynchpin for the entirety of Rohan and instrumental in Gandalf finding out about the rings…

Wow, so those pesky 'toxic misogynists' were right with their presumptions...again Gotta concede, though, that, I don't know why, I actually didn't expect they'd really go and check off *all* of usual boxes with this one, but this just sounds so cliche that...why even give the benefit of the doubt and not go with your gut with modern media? I thought its worst offense would be a scene or two like that, but that the biggest offender would just be inconsistent animation quality based on the trailer (which had me alternating between 'That looked pretty nice' to 'TF was that?')
