I don't know why you didn't leave empty track space because then you'd be able to hear the noise on its own.

It's possible you have a DC problem in your studio and the only equipment you could here the improvents on was the one with a linear power supply and moast likely with a toridal transform in it! If you ore your neighbours have a ev charger ore solar panel installed this could be one of the causes for the DC leaking on to the AC line the best way for you to findout if this is tha case you can try to put dc blocker in line prior to your equipment and see if you get an improvment f.ex. You could put a ISOTEK EVO3 SYNCRO UNI before the power distribution block and plugg inn the equiment with a linear powersupply and giv it listen.

So, if DJing is part of my main needs, do you have an opinion on what are your top 3 basic interfaces that have the best headphones quality with a nice volume control for monitoring as a DJ that's under $100?

Thanks for the great review! Since in your previous video you said the SSL2 was the best pick for home recording (better than the Behringer), would you say that for vocals and voiceovers only it's still a better pick over Audient ID14 MKII, or is the Audient a better pick? Have you tried testing if SSL2 MKII has the same noise floor and preamps like the SSL2 you recommend? Is there a difference in the noise floor and premps for between ID14 and ID24, or are they both equally good if I want to save money?

Wow, thanks for this super detailed and informative video. I bought an Audient id 24 interface about a year or so ago to replace my old apogee element 24 interface, but to my surprise listening to the same songs on Apple Music, in the same room , with the same studio monitors, I felt that the apogee element 24 interface sounded better. Maybe I'm crazy. Thinking about buying the id 24 or the new ssl 2+ mk 2 and giving this another go.

I don't use microphones sourced recording, I'm only record analogue synthesizers, does the noise floor you mention is a concern in such case ?

I have a work computer. I want a great sound from a USB interface. The hurdle really isn't the interface per se. It is the compliance I have to follow to work with it. So I don't need software that my company won't allow on it. So most of the heavy lifting truly has to be with the interface itself. Curious what you have here.

Took me a few days of googling/youtubing to find the Tascam US 2x2 hr. It's around $150 and ranks near the top of the noise level charts (above the SSL).

So you mention the RME baby-face very briefly, how come there's not an RME interface in your comparison? I still have my OG baby-face that I bought in 2011, it's still my main interface and has stood the test of time where other interface's have come and gone. It's never crashed or glitched used in both studio and live.

The L 6 looks promising but all I have is a iPad Pro M1 so the software wouldn’t be used. I play guitar and keys. Would like to use a Mackie 16 X 4 X 2 V2 with usb mixer with an interface. The L 6 has a charging port for phones and iPad. I like that feature. What to do. Thanks 🙏

the worst AI is M-Audio Solo.. after years, u got error while pluggin on ur PC, and detected as USB AUDIO CODEC, and not detected when you use DAW. and if u got Red Light of Death / RLOD, the only solution is to thrown away to trash bin as garbage...

I use a Presonus Audiobox. hahaha So noisy! I make noisy music so I haven't noticed. I just wanted something with midi IO with at least two inputs for cheap but this Behringer UMC also has the midi and is maybe even cheaper at only $80 on amazon so I'll be switching to that soon! Thanks so much for the thorough research!

Would genuinely be awesome if you would do a special on audio interfaces with edrums. Trying to navigate the subject is exhausting. I use EZ Drummer 3, macbook m3 max, with a Roland TD30. I've got a Focusrite 4i4, but I'm having to use a cheap Beringer headphone amp to boost the output. Mental. Audient might be the way.
