From across the pond....."YOU ARE THE MAN" for being a 1 man band you turn out an amazing amount of quality and precision. The attention to detail is beyond anything I personally have ever witnessed and am now following your channel. Great work!

Cool to see the process. Weirdly, your like count kept bouncing from 9 to 16 and back to 9 (and 10 to 17 and back after I liked it) while I was watching. Not suree what that's about.
@disguyzcustoms
@disguyzcustoms 26 күн бұрын
That seems very wierd that the count is doing that. I don’t run notifications on my phone so I only see it when I open the app so I got no idea what happens in real time.

Nice work! Curious how you did the internal gussets.
@JaenEngineering
@JaenEngineering Ай бұрын
I'm guessing tacked them in place before assembling the frame then welding through the pre cut slots/holes after welding round the edges??
@disguyzcustoms
@disguyzcustoms Ай бұрын
I tack all the internal gussets to one side of the frame first and place the other side ontop then tack through the slots. Then I’ll stitch them into place before the straps go on.

Cheers, I make all my own rod ends in house and machine up bush housings to suit off the shelf bushes. The only rod ends I buy are off the shelf hiem joints and get them from my local race car parts supplier.

Love the way you've retained the body lines and character of the ute. I'm doing the same style of wide body on a 1970 muscle car and the challenge of making it flow and retain the original form is massive.

Most slept on channel on KZbin. Mate keep putting content out until the algorithm catches up. Big fan since DUT days. If you get time can you do a vid on measuring up rails before you go into solidworks? Any tips or tricks to speed up the process. Keep it up!
@disguyzcustoms
@disguyzcustoms 4 ай бұрын
Thanks heaps. I don’t really understand the algorithm, I just wanna do videos cause it helps me stay on task in the shop. So it’s more of a tool for me mostly. As for rail measurement, I think I have done stuff coming up that can be filmed for that process.

what thickness material do you use and is this something you use on every rail? or does it depend on the car.

I normally match the material thickness to the original chassis.

Nice work, you can weld a frame for me anytime. I would like to see you doing the welding, sanding etc. not just describe the process. I subscribed so I can watch this build progress and I learned some nice tips. Thanks! also it can be dizzying to watch too much head cam footage. Maybe use a tripod sometimes?
