My first 9 inch diff housing build.

Finally bit the bullet and started my first diff build for the Chevy truck project.
Bought a strange diff housing centre and cleaned it up, then welded in heavy duty axle tubes.

Try a 3/8 NPT drain plug at 5.30 position . Weld in bung u can be purchased

Straightening housing B4 or after all the welding ways of keeping/ making straight How did u do yours ???????? 1//Use 4 alignment pucks ,,, diff carrier housing 2 pucks ,,,,,, axle tubes 2 pucks [or install bearing ends 2 pucks ] slip fit axle ends over or inside tube or butt weld 2// bend axle housing straight

This diff was bang on after I welded the brace on. Just had it in my jig on the c-channel. It moved opposite the brace which was good cause like I said the brace brought it back. I have the pucks on there way with the straight bar that I’ll use for installing the bearing ends and I’ll do any minor straighting then.
