I always wanted to work backstage as a kid but i landed a long way back stage in IT for the people that make all the fancy gear 😂 really cool to see it out in the wild. Its 20 years since i last worked in the event industry and things have come a long way but I rarely get to see it in action

Hey guys. This is fvgestel, the author of displayserver and some other utils. Looking back it seemed crazy. I got the empeg in august and a few weeks later I joined the first empeg meeting, where I showcased displayserver. Funny thing is that about 10 year ago I got introduced to some new colleages at ASML, where I was employed at the time. One of them stated that I was one of the reasons he got into IT. Apparently he was also at the meet when he was about 16 or 17 back then, and he really looked up to me. I was just a nerd with some abnormal obsession lol... Still am most probably... And Kudos to Rob Schofield, one of the few people I can remember from the meeting...

@@DubiousEngineering no problem. It actually has the battery type printer on the rear casing. The confusion around batteries is possibly why so many battery cases are missing these days. If they broke people would likely have binned them. At least we can print reasonable facsimiles these days!

When i've reconnected 3 red leds start to flash and the battery is in a block status. I suppose that bms goes in block when you remove voltage. Do you know jow unblock or reset bms? Thanks a lot

Plugging into a socket directly is super dangerous (and I believe illegal) if that socket is on a circuit that has demand as well, you're bypassing the breaker from the generation side so you could overload the circuit without even realising it and risk a fire when the cables overload (e.g. pulling 20A from the grid through the 20A breaker and generating 10A from the solar side you're potentially pushing 30A through 2.5mm cable rated at 20A in wall)
@DubiousEngineering13 күн бұрын

Great video.. Spewing after buying those 3 replacement boards, least you have 6 boards you can sell now... I have my brothers PANASONIC 42" LED TH-42AS700A, which powering on gradually became problematic untill if finally wouldn't power on , ( was no more than 2 years old ) but resulted in a fast Green LED blink code ( aparently power board failure code) , which is next to the stand by light ..anyways I immediately thought of Electrolytic capacitor damage but noticed they were all Rubycon which are generally the best.. Any other ideas appreciated. Cheers

Wait, what? It turns itself off when there's a brownout? Can't you just turn off the main breaker for the mains supply and then reset your system so you can still have electricity when there's a brownout?
@DubiousEngineering24 күн бұрын
It’s a safety feature…. If powers off, it’s off just in case engineers are working on cables. There are other versions that have a mains breaker controller that do what you’re suggesting but they need wiring into the house.
