Hi Coqui Games thanks for this interesting video, at around 27:00 I was a little disturbed because we previously learnt about flip-flop and here as the situation is go back between forward/backward (true/false) would it be possible to just use flipflop ? Like finished -> flipflop -> A -> GoBackward / -> B -> GoForward I tested it and it works (with fewer nodes) my question is more : is there a practical reason that you didn't used flipflop here ?
@Levrifon8 сағат бұрын
Same thing for the delay : As you apply a delay whatever the boolean value true or false , why not applying FIRST a delay , and then your branch node to either go back or go forward ? Or even another solution would be that at the end of CustomEvent GoForward you apply a delay so everytime it's called the delay is already implied ?

Hi Coqui Games ! thank you for this tutorial which is very clear However, at 12:47 I created my structure with default values, a list of random color, but when you go back to "Color Options" in the ThirdPersonMap panel, mine says "Color Options : 0 Array Element" where yours show all data added, i saved everything default values are set but still have empty I don't understand why
@Levrifon2 күн бұрын
Ok fixed ! it was tricky but I declared the variable ColorOptions as an array instead of 1 element, by default it selected Array mode

huge smile on my face. my level of excitement just went up to the nth power! holy $$ this is soo frgn awesome of you. I have to stop after a lesson marinate on it and it usually clicks when i watch it again. I was pretty intimidated after the Vinterp's but the timeline nodes made it super fun! Really enjoying your teaching method sir..

i remember the function of c++, you can just make an unknow integer, or string etc, in the function, and then just by using the variabile u want, the function do what it has to do with an unknow variabile. is possible to do it here in blueprint too?

I have no idea how to add this to the interface in the procedural city or where to find the tutorial for it. Also no way to contact you. Are you no longer supporting these assets?
@CoquiGames16 күн бұрын
Hey there! Apologies for the delay - the quickest way to contact me is via Discord (discord.gg/vJVa9xk) or email. Please take a look at this integration guide - docs.google.com/document/d/1Vgzi-C71m1dPkbD9404pgXvJBKmumZaxqM7dn-E1tAI/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.kr0i4oqzwdff. And feel free to join Discord and DM me for any other questions :)

@@CoquiGames Thanks for the reply. I joined the discord and will probably contact you soon as I experiment with the landscape and pcg. Thanks for the integration guide Fab must have messed things up with the documentation.

b(o why did you use aiming like this ! why don't explain using gun or hit by hands !!
@CoquiGames16 күн бұрын
My goal is to explain the concept in the simplest way possible and using a gun would add a bit more complexity. But the lesson works regardless so you can do this with a gun mesh or hands :)

you can use the same array ref in your event graph instead of dropping a bunch of them btw, for easier maintability / readability.

this is what you call a tutorial. please can you go and teach all the other marketplace selelrs how to do this. i struggle so much with some of their tutotials and then they get all annoyed at me for something not working when its so poorly explained. this was such a breath of fresh air and so easy to follow. thank you. im going to contact you on discord though as my project uses the new input system and this kit uses the old one which dont seem to like to work together lol

My opinion is that if we've waited this long for an update, we can wait 2 more months, but get a well-functioning, polished system. I'm happy with the improvement of predators/attacks and reactions, because previously the animals just froze too often, which really ruined the immersion. I'd like to feel that it's all ALIVE. Birds and fish are just an additional option, and if I had to choose, I'd prefer a light system with birds that fly and sometimes maybe land, reacting by taking off when the player is present, that's all.
@trygonberg3821Ай бұрын
First of all, thanks for everything you did so far! That's an amazing kit. I would vote for option one, but whatever is the best for you will be just fine 😁. (If you need any help with the dog in any way, just ask, I'm the model creator 😉)

Man I remember when I was at school just over 20 years ago. I really had a hard time in science, until I had a teacher in gr.10 who would explain the way that you do and everything started making sense and from that year I started doing very well. I cannot wait to watch all your videos to learn, you really do explain very well with your examples to make a normal person like me with no experience understand. Learned more in 10min than from watching 10 videos from other creators. Great work man you deserve way more subs
@wolfie6197Ай бұрын
Forgot to add, I have been working on a game concept that I think imo could be a great game but coding has been holding me back as I know nothing about it, rest of the work I do have some experience, have been losing hope and motivation as I felt like I was maybe too dumb to understand anything about blueprints and coding until I came across your videos. I feel more motivated than ever before.

@snark567Ай бұрын
Probably the most useful video out of the entire series. Even if a person doesn't know all of the nodes and how to utilize them, being able to break down and simplify the functionality they want to implement makes it easier to problem solve and search for relevant information.
@gillgonzalez8479Ай бұрын
I asked for the PCG food but didn't think you'd have time for it. I'm so happy to see it on here and that you are trying to get it fixed. I appreciate your honesty and transparency! Ive been waiting for months to implement ABK but i didn't want to install and then reinstall if it meant i was going to lose a lot of my work and migration pains. My vote is to finish everything in 2025. Even though I want it now id much rather have it done once instead of having to update. This is because I've never had to update your ABK and I am afraid of losing my work or breaking something else.

Hey there! Thank you for this course :) I've been a game dev for quite a while now but I've been on proprietary engines for the last 6 years. It was very helpful to refresh my memory on UE terminology and changes in UE5 as well as some standards and integrated nodes. I feel like I have caught up again, at least on the basics. Thanks again, great job!

Because of life, general laziness and and other responsibilities, it took me a few months getting through this course. I started this because I decided one day it was time to put together a team of the best discontent B-listers I could find in my circle of friends and making a game. I'm putting together the prototype now, so I'm going to count that for extra credits on the assignment. Thank you for what you do, and for helping me get the ball rolling on changing my life for the better.
