Thank you for your video! I am a dentist and I use R6 Mark II to take fantastic photos of my patients. Now, I want to start recording videos of my patients as well knowing how good the video quality is with this camera. I need to shoot video of inside the mouth, so I would need some lighting as well. Would you have any recommendations for me?
@UglyShoesOnly12 күн бұрын
I feel this would be the perfect setup if the tubes were a bit longer and had a v mount battery on the back to balance it out. Would also allow you to get rid of the battery hanging on the monitor. Fantastic setup, the rubber focus ring is something I've never considered. Thank you so much for such a well thought out video.

Funny. In two years, nobody commented that the title of the video says "18-35mm" instead of "15-35" ;) At least the description allowed me to find this video :)

I recently changed the title, so thank you for pointing this issue out. I corrected it. :)

@@VideoMakerTwist Aha. No insult intended :). As you can guess I'm thinking about getting the lens, though I probably should see if I need it. Mainly do bird photography but would like to also do some forest/landscape. I have the 24-105 f/4 and money is a thing so I probably should see if I miss that extra wide angle. Thanks for the video.

I have an S5iix on order and I got the smalllrig npf monster off ebay. It's great. I only got one because I wanted to test it out but it looks super-good. I also have the dummmy battery for the S5ii with the ISB-C connector. I thought the NPF mount from smallrig was expensive, but now that I think about it, it's still worth it. I ordered a tilta rig and got the ari style handle which is designed to embed the NPF970 plus a samsung SSD drive (I picked up 2 of those). All this stuff sure as well adds up.
@TerenceKearns15 күн бұрын
The other advantage of using the NPF to power the dummy battery instead of plugging a wall charger into the dummy battery is that you don't have to worry about power surges or "dirty" power shortening the lifespan of your precious camera.
@TerenceKearns15 күн бұрын
I am also really turned off by a massive buly v-mount style battery that sits behnd your flipout screen. The NPF formfactor and size is perfect compromise for long-run shoots.

Thanks for showing a great cage rig setup for Canon R6ii. I made notes for many items and will probably buy a few from your links. However, if doing wedding videos like I do, a bigger better microphone would do like a shotgun mic for example. Comica VM20 or Rode Pro shotgun mic comes to mind. Great video explanation and I agree with most of these items as ideal. Thanks.

@adrianvanleeuwen17 күн бұрын
From Canon's viewpoint, by not including the R to EF adapter in the box, this would encourage people to buy RF lenses. Also, now in Dec. 2024, they have reduced the R6ii by $500 less, so even less room to include an adapter. Canon needs the price of an R adapter as separate purchase. Just know, that the Nikon Z adapter to older FX lens is about 3 times more money than an R adapter, so Canon buyers have it better. All these companies want to sell more new lenses so why include it? A cable clamp would have been useful though to include.
@VideoMakerTwist17 күн бұрын
Yeah, your argument makes sense. True!
@adrianvanleeuwen17 күн бұрын
Thanks for your video. I agree with what you say. I was about to buy the Canon R7 and settle for limitations of aps-c, however after reviewing videos on Canon R6ii and all its benefits, especially low light low noise for indoor, I decided to go that way. A lot of what I do is in dimmer light, indoors, late in day. Full frame was the way to go. Thinking long term use, the Canon R6ii should last years for great quality video, a good investment, and very good for starting my YT channel soon. Loads of features. Instead of always looking for a low cost camera, people need to know when it makes sense to invest for long term.

Fantastic lens for the next generation of crops. People compare the efs 17-55 with this and it's an apt comparison however I have found this lens to have better contrast and sharpness wide open than that legendary lens. The Canon lens does have IS but for the price, this lens is a cracker for sure.

I just sold my EF 20-70mm f/2.8L II USM (and RF adapter) and bought the new summer 2024 RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM. At half the weight and two-thirds the length of my old 20-70, and at $1100 list it's a bargain. It's weather-sealed and has "L-quality optics" (which have gotten good reviews) but no red ring, lens hood or L designation - so I bought an aftermarket lens hood from JJC for about $15. I guess the low price disqualifies it from being called an L, so I twisted a pair of red twist ties onto a green rubber band and put it on the front of the lens barrel, saying "Joyous No L" !

Hello, could you tell me with certainty if it is possible to install either of these two cages but with the flash (speedlight) mounted to the camera? I need to take video and photos at the same time and I see that the space needed for the flash could get in the way or clutter the cage. Greetings from Mexico City

How reliable on startup is it? My experience using powerbanks and dummy batteries is that there are small micro interuptions on startup (startup of the powerbank from sleep). Which leads to several attempys to power on your camera. Then, if you plug something into another usb port, thereis another micro interuption. I'm using anker powerbank.
