As of right now I have one receiver pack moved to the component tray. CG feels a little better it’s not as nose heavy compared to the maiden flight footage which that day I did three flights. My goal is to have all three batteries on the nose so I do plan on removing the factory installed nose weight.

@@WarrenRC6373 Gotcha, I have my buddy Mike Sarz (you actually have one of his former jets in the background of vid) helping me with the build, and we were trying to see if that would be an issue.

This Viper build is Manufactured by Blackhorse model. BH does not sell Blackhorse models. But I do agree that the retracts on the Blackhorse model is not the best and also the covering is the worst I’ve seen. They look nice new out of the box but the moment you take the jet out in the sun it just blisters everywhere.

@@WarrenRC6373 BH=Black horse I ordered replacement motors for the gear assembly from JP Hobby. The BH gear have an internal failure point in the gearbox. Also, it's just self adhesive shelf paper with a design on it. Not much you can do to keep it perfect.

@@AphexTwinIIaw gotcha with the BH my apology I misunderstood the acronym used.

Cheaper is not in most peoples vocabulary when it comes to turbine jets. The AF model F-22 comes with upgraded metal gear digital servos with more torque than the previous models. Second the landing gears and brakes are JP hobby. I’ve owned previous AF models with factory brakes and it wouldn’t even stop the jet not to mention it was an EDF. Bananahobby did the right thing with that model. That’s by including upgrade JPhobby brakes for “FREE”. This model cost more because we kept pressuring the manufacturer to install better equipment but it will come with a cost. You can’t have better without increasing the cost. Foam jets have come a long way and to honestly this is my first foam turbine. All of my turbine jets from 1.8m to 3.2m are full composite jets. In my opinion, foam turbines are more affordable for people wanting to get into turbines. The kit is $1,700 PNP all you need is batteries, receiver and turbine. Also to mention, composite jets are all made to order. That means you are waiting 4-6 months to get your jet. If you ever damage your full composite jet, it takes 3-4 months to get a new part made and shipped from overseas. Foam jets parts are readily available. Yes, we carry spare wings, fuselage and stabs. So when you damage a wing it will be at your door within a week or two based on shipping cost. That’s a plus for people wanting to get back in the air so much quicker.

@WarrenRC6373 I appreciate your opinion. Foam is a much better in the affordable option. But again. This is foam with 300 dollar landing gear. This is probably being produced for less than 400 bucks in China, and the rest is just the distributor being greedy. Sales will prove my point. It may be a cool and good flying plane. But way too expensive for what it is.

@@turboed00SII appreciate your opinion as well. I’ve had a lot of fun flying this F22 so far at my local field and at Jets over Kentucky 2024. I felt that I personally wasn’t giving foam turbines enough credit. What I do like about these foam turbines is that it’s a lower stress level when flying it. Parts are cheaper than composite and the F22 has become my go to stress free turbine jet on the weekend. Thanks for stopping by and providing your opinion I think time will tell how this model will do on the market.

Initial setup neutral on the trailing edge of the fuselage. But its nose heavy still I have about 2-3mm up elevator for level flight. I’m still shifting the CG back more and will report my final setup.
