tRump has been able to convince the public so consistently because of his repetition of lies, followed by repetition by the sycophants in Congress, plus the complicit mainstream media that has given him unlimited coverage. And let's not forget the infrequent and half-hearted push-back of the left.

Here are some key insights from this discussion: Key Points and Themes: Inaugural Address and Agenda: Trump's inaugural address emphasized ending America's decline, setting a tone for his administration's policy direction. Executive Orders: Trump has signed numerous executive orders, some of which are seen as controversial or potentially beyond legal norms (e.g., attempts to end birthright citizenship, pardoning January 6th rioters). Pardons: A significant point of concern was Trump's decision to pardon individuals involved in the January 6th Capitol riot, including leaders from extremist groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. This move was interpreted as endorsing and possibly encouraging further vigilante actions in his support. Political Retribution: There's a discussion about Trump's intent to use governmental power for retribution against critics and political opponents, with specific references to altering Civil Service protections and initiating investigations. Media and Public Perception: The media's coverage of Trump's actions is scrutinized for possibly not being aggressive enough due to fears of alienating Trump supporters, who constitute a significant viewership or readership. Democratic Opposition: Crystal advises Democrats to stand firm on principles, fight the policies they disagree with, and not be overly strategic about future elections but focus on current governance issues. Checks and Balances: There's a noted concern over the erosion of traditional checks and balances due to the GOP's capitulation to Trump's influence, highlighting the need for independent action from Senators and Congress members. Influence of Business and Tech: The presence of tech CEOs and business leaders at the inauguration was seen as a display of favoritism and potential corruption, signaling to others the benefits of aligning with Trump's administration. International Relations: Trump's approach to allies like Denmark and Mexico, and his stance on authoritarian leaders, suggest a shift towards more isolationist or even imperialistic policies, which could strain international relationships. MAGA Movement's Internal Conflicts: There's mention of potential fractures within the MAGA movement due to differing agendas among key figures, which could impact the unity and effectiveness of Trump's policies. Analysis: Political Strategy: The discussion points to a strategy of overwhelming policy changes to demoralize opposition or intimidate critics, both within and outside the government. Media Role: Emphasis is placed on the media's critical role in reporting factual impacts of policy rather than just the rhetoric or spectacle. Long-term Implications: There's an underlying concern about the long-term health of democratic institutions if Trump's approach continues unchecked, particularly with regards to the rule of law and governmental integrity. This dialogue reflects a critical view of the administration's early moves, focusing on potential authoritarian tendencies, the manipulation of political power, and the need for a robust opposition and media scrutiny.

Democrats like Kristol know what they’ve done to Trump and think, if anyone had done that to us, we know what we’d do if we came back to power. So they project.

this is so dumb, "I was in the Regan administration, he didn't think of the senators as a rubberstamp." AFTER 40 YEARS OF RUSH LIMBAUGH CRAP! And he's all "This is not my republican...." NO IT'S NOT! This is brain rot, the arm chair dumb guy you laughed and exploited for over 40 years, getting their revenge. If anything, the 80s taught you "the snobs vs slobs."... well, this is the slob, and he won, and you rod on his back for over 40 years and they are kicking you out! FUCK! YOU HAVE TO CLAIM RESPONIBLITY FOR THIS! Seriously, you loathed this audience, and trump treats them as the guy to have a beer with! And he doesn't drink. IT'S NOT THAT DIFFICULT!

Thank you Katie -- great interview as always. You really do have fantastic guests and I learn so much. In thinking about what was said about Musk's threats of funding opponents in the primaries of those GOP incumbents who don't support tRump's agenda -- I would love to see a FUND (PAC) of money that many people could contribute to and where the funds could be given out/granted to candidates who are challenged by Musk/tRump.
