1000xResist is absolutely in this vein. Not horror, but an indie game with extreme focus on narrative tackling several difficult themes and conversations simultaneously - executing near flawlessly in my opinion. Plays on religion, faith, fate, what it means to be human/an individual, hierarchies of power, cycles of violence, cause and effect, xenophobia, cosmic (near Lovecraftian) threats, family, free will, and memory. Truly truly excellent

i genuinely haven't felt this excited about mascot horror since fnaf (and some of their fan games like tjoc:r). rambley is so incredibly charismatic and well-written, and i'm super excited to see the story progress. wonderful balance of light-hearted horror and humor so far, though i agree that the challenge and horror aspect can be stepped up a notch! stoked to see where this game goes

1:29:41 Someone will have probably said this already but Anya's employee card is in the corridor. I thought it wasn't there the first time I played the game but on replay, I spotted it. The ends of her black hair. The reason why you can't see Anya though is because every time her employee card is shown, it's covered over by Jimmy's. Another way of emphasising how much Jimmy goes out of his way to ignore Anya and block out what he has done, like when the medbay was distorted and you couldn't see Anya's corpse or Curly on the stretcher. I can't explain why but Jimmy's card covering Anya's makes me feel sick

NERD RANT WARNING INCOMING! Something I find interesting are Rambley's eyes. If you remove the purple and everything else, you're left with this strange white eye with the same pupil effect as CatNap or Dogday. Normally this instills fear, however the surrounding purple paired with the pupils makes a calming pallet because of the white and purple colours, meaning that the colours make essentially a 'safe area' for you to look at. This pallet is then reflected everywhere on Rambley apart from his red bandana, which is an interesting design choice considering blood is the colour red, and most of the time to create something scary or terrifying it contains the colour red. This design choice might be a sideways step to trick the player into thinking with a very small part of their mind that Rambley cannot be trusted, but the rest of his soothing pallet is enough to keep you going even if you don't trust him. If, for an example, Rambley had been a red fox with an orange bandana called Sneaky, you would naturally feel distrust towards him. This is due to a few core details: the name (Sneaky) because often sneaky beings are dangerous; the colour pallet (red and orange), because red often indicates danger and orange is very close to red (bonus points if his eyes are either of these colours as well); and his form (fox) because as well as having an extremely dangerous bite, foxes can be very silent and sneak up on you quietly and then attack you.

Biologically the employees are different from humans, weighing significantly less, and we don’t even know what kind of entity they are beneath the suits. So it’s not absurd to think Sigurd could have lived for 400+ years

what i think the last log is, is mithrix, who has just died, calling out to his brother one final time, feeling more betrayed than ever because his brother trapped him in that prison which we call the moon, calling out to him for an answer that he will never get because his brother has already passed
