Hello everyone! After the official release of v50, I do have some stuff I need to clarify that was fixed between the beta and now. Sigurd's inclusion in the Old Bird's entry has been removed. This means the discrepancy was not intentional, and Zeekers simply made a mistake. So much for that! On top of that, it seems the shadow that shows up behind you in the opening cutscene has also been removed. I don't know how *that* could've possibly been a mistake, but who knows... Anyways, that's all. Thanks for watching!

Considering Sigurd (or Siegfried) is a name in German legend, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a codename, since it is fitting for someone leaving logs behind to try and help others. Sigurd could also technically be a group of people following in the original's footsteps. (Off the top of my head, similar to Perseus in Black Ops)

I like the idea of the old birds being the antithesis to coil heds, because it would make sense too that the coil heads would only survive inside the facility where the birds can't reach them - and that's why coilheads don't go out of the facility.

Huh, well then it seems that it’s either a lore contradiction or the Lethal Company universe has an even more major divergence as its stated in the description of the Old Birds that they were first sighted invading the capital (or something of the sort) of a space empire, so unless this is simply a game oversight then humans must’ve been in space way earlier (like 1940s-50s, if not earlier, considering when Sigurd is alive). Edit: after further watching the video, it must have been a game oversight, as there’s no way Sigurd could’ve seen them when they were first sighted in 2143, unless he saw some sort of testing planet.

My biggest theory I myself came up with is, the Bracken is also supernatural. Not only that, but the Bracken we see in game is the same one from Sigurds logs. The way the Bracken vanishes into "shadows" on "death" just screams super natural. I believe the Bracken doesn't truly die whenever it's "killed", instead, vanishing in order to reform somewhere else. Also I think it's really cool the way The Old Birds are clearly a direct counter to Coil Heads in a war situation, really cool way to expand the entities

I think the mansion maps are probably just supernatural as a whole and not related to the war. People usually don't build giant homes and libraries in super cold and inhospitable places (especially when they're busy warring for resources), and the fauna section for both rend and dine says "it's highly unlikely for complex life to exist here" which makes me think whoever wrote them doesn't even know what's living in there. They're just supposed to be scary and mysterious instead of part of the larger picture? At least for now
@Mintybird
@Mintybird 8 ай бұрын
My personal speculation is that they're supernatural not because the location itself is, but because a bunch of rich people wanted to hide from the war and brought their expensive and rare curios, many of which were cursed, and resulted in the deaths of many.

@@Mintybird I like the idea of the mansion moons being a complete mystery, but that’s a good explanation. Nutcrackers could’ve been like an expensive security product since the bestiary calls them “the guardians of the house”, and we see so many there because only the rich could afford them

@@Mintybird I wonder if the butlers are also man-made? Like they’re supposed to be alive, but they behave in a sort of robotic way, and exploding into bees when it dies is a weird defense mechanism for a creature to just evolve. Everything about it seems to exists to serve and protect the mansion itself instead of prioritizing self-preservation. We’ve already seen monsters that are organic with man-made armor (like nutcrackers and maybe coil heads since they bleed), so what if it’s the opposite? A living thing engineered to maintain the mansions and chase out intruders at all costs, even its own life.
@Mintybird
@Mintybird 8 ай бұрын
@@foncess I personally take to the idea that the Butlers, being described as "smelling like rotting meat," might actually just be controlled by the hornets inside as a hive of sorts. The reason they might do so is to lull prey into a false sense of security, stab them with the knife, and then scavenge off the corpse created, only attacking the Employees because either they're much less threatening than anything else they could attack, or they have a sort of symbiotic relationship with other denizens of the mansion, keeping it as a clean living environment for everything else in exchange for protection/not getting attacked by everything else. The corpse may have slowed its decay because the hornets maintain it, possibly preserving it with a wax coating, which won't stop it from reeking or bloating from the bacteria already inside, but will probably stop outside elements from getting in, and maintain some of its outward appearance for an extended period of time. The log implies it's another recent discovery like the Old Birds are, which could mean they haven't had the time to fully decay yet with that maintenance. It's gross yes, but it could end up making a lot of sense regardless of the origin of the house tilesets.

I'm gonna go off on a limb and propose that the Company is completely separate and unrelated to the greater conflicts of the universe. The Company's sole goal is to find scrap and bring it back to HQ, supposedly to (feed the beast) sell later. The Company has thus existed for many many years with hundreds of thousands of employees coming and going. Sigurd worked for them back in the 1960s, we work for them in the 2300s. It'd explain why Sigurd ended up on moons we know, yet they were somehow 'recently discovered'. It'd also explain why we encounter Cola soda cans and bottles, old cash registers and hair dryers, while also finding advanced technology. Additionally, one of the biggest benefactress of any conflict are those companies who salvage and repair lost or broken stuff. The Company has thus been around for years, waiting for conflicts to occur before swooping in to salvage stuff. They did so in the 1960s, they did so in the 2100s, and right now after whatever the last major conflict was in 2300s. Its just bad luck when their employees encounter still active weapons of war... The timeline thing seems obvious to me - the company is cloning Sigurd and the others. That's why they seem to persist for centuries, that's why they don't remember anything past joining the company, that why the company gets really mad if a teammate goes boom and you don't bring back the stiff. It's not to "notify the family", it's cuz they want their property back. When you sign that contract, *_you_* become proprietary. Humankind is dwindling, and they need workers. You do the math.

This game is such a collection of potential theories. About Sigurd: I don't think his memory is wrong since different sources align with similar dates. Either there's more than one "Sigurd", or the dropship's ability to travel near light-speed causes time dilation (time moves slower for us as we travel 'instantly' between moons. Minutes to us may be months, years to an observer) Mansions may be for families of the high-ranking facility overseers on the remote locations. Were the facilities run by Buemoch? The engines and giant bolts, etc - parts for Old Birds? Butlers may be bloated corpses used by the hornets. Are they really hornets? Circuit Bees are nanobots imitating bees. Can the hornets read and mimic the memories of these once-living humans? If Anglen made the Coilhead - did they make other psychological / "pseudo-organic" weaponry? The Nutcrackers, Jesters, Bees / Hornets, maybe even the Mimic? Turrets, mines, old birds, facilities - all fit thematically. Nutcrackers, easter eggs, etc don't. These things are meant to cause fear out of typically harmless things, and being hunted by a "mannequin" sounds terrifying. Imagine hiding in a cozy sitting room, hearing frantic pitter-patter behind the door where you saw your loved ones slaughtered. Or a family suiciding together to prevent making more coilheads. May explain the ghost girl, though The Beast / 'Company' also represents a Lovecraftian 'abyss' whose influence slowly corrupts the mind and fabric of reality as it grows and consumes.

If you pay attention you can hear thumping at an interval and the cries of a child, 2 signature things associated with old birds. The computer does expire on the date before the old birds landing, but thats just the copyright. If this is a war both sides would be using whatever they had including centuries old worn down computers, similar to how some militaries use more analog devices to prevent spying due to how hard it can be to access these. How when you die on the job, you just come right back on the ship. Why the company doesn't care about your wellbeing. Maybe you aren't coming back. Maybe it's just your clone uploaded with your memories before you died, and when you fail the company they can just do a hard reset on you and start over. That would also explain the amnesia that Sigurd seems to have. The company is trying to do a reset on him but he just keeps making quota, so instead of doing a reset when he's dead, they try a reset while he's alive. Or this could be completely wrong but hey isn't that what theories are all about.

I wonder if we will ever get a moon with an actual population, it would be interesting twist to the lore if we had a moon that still had humans. I find it hard to believe though that a company or army would make nutcracker, jester and coilhead considering how elaborate their designs are, I mean if I was corporation designing weapons I would make them as bare and simple as well as utilitarian as possible like mines or turrets. My simple theory is that the ghost girl is the child of that mansion's owner and the butlers are some sort of engineered biological entity made to serve the mansion's owner, I do also like the idea that whoever is the owner of the mansion is also a high-ranking member in the interstellar politics considering how jesters and nutcrackers and maybe even coilheads are so childlike I wouldn't be surprised if their designs were based off of this person's daughter (Ghost Girl) toys and drawings.

I believe that the reason things are only recently getting discovered again is that both of these empires were completely obliterated by their war. There was a separate English faction that seemed to play a third party role in the politics, and perhaps considering the state of Lethal Company’s world when we play, it’s likely that they were also caught in the crossfire and were almost all killed too. Only hundreds of years after it seems after they rebuilt their civilization, that’s around when the loop of lethal company we actually play with happens. I probably missed some details, but I think this is a pretty decent outline for a theory.

If I'm not tripping, I believe the English are only mentioned in the 1960s dates. Anglen comes much later. Also, note that the "Anglo" prefix is often used to describe things pertaining to England. Also note that England is the ONLY Earth country explicitly mentioned. I wouldn't be surprised if the Anglen Empire was some sort of English successor state.
@through-faith-alone
@through-faith-alone 7 ай бұрын
the Angle empire are the villains, they are the ones that encountered the Boat, which was the vessel that carried the Company (monster) and is responsible for the creation of the other monsters. The Anglen made a deal with the Company, and created the various paranormal weapons they were planning to use to take over everything with terror. The Buemoch did not know entirely what was going on but they must have gotten jerked after initial terror attacks on their colonies by the Anglen. They started developing weapons to counter them. To the dismay of both, the Company had played the Anglen, and it was revealed that it had unleashed terrible bioweapons on both of them on its path, and took over Earth, while the two Empires were busy fighting a war against each other. Everyone perished in the aftermath and all that's left is a shell of civilisation. The Boat stopped being important and all of humanity is subservient to the Company monster, which is kept and fed on Earth, in a place the Anglen made to house it.

to add, this is probably an allusion to capitalism and its effects on the world, it makes sense as the Anglos are responsible for the overwhelming spread of capitalism, which has turned back to bite them in the butt, and has made them and everyone subservient to it

It may be time dilation. It is known that time is relative to the location you are in the universe, and depending on the proximity you are from certain celestial bodys, time moves at insane speeds relative to you. Lets say you deside to orbit a massive black hole or similar phenomenon. From the surface level info I've seen, 1 year near the blackhole could make "time" travel at 80x the normal pace for you (80 heckin Years). And this can get much faster the closer you are to the event horizon (Other factors include size, shape, and type). One thing im particularly interested in is the Beast having similar characteristics to a blackhole. It would explain the sudden time jumps despite the team being (presumably) normal humans. Especially sense they are close enough to it to hear and interact with it (technically). Just my one cent on the matter.

I think the player plays as a clone of Sigurd, it would explain the time dilation between the old entries. Every time Sigurd has been cloned, the Company made him a blank slate of his old previous self minus his memories. Since in order to feed this creature is to have disposable clones working like machines. And since the creature feeds on metal and things of value. It wouldn’t be so far fetched if the Complete found a way to cut down on making machines/robots to save those materials in order to feed. Since the creature doesn’t particularly eat anything biological exactly. Plus with the way they simply disregard the crew so to speak, I highly suspect we’re playing as clones. Also along with the diary entries and sticky note makes sense to be there for the next clone to read and make new entries on what they encounter. I could be wrong since it’s just a little theory. I must say though, I really like how you’ve structured and took the relevant entries and parts to bring to light the subject at hand. I do very much agree on about the coil heads and the old birds that you’ve highlighted and shown is absolutely outstanding~!🎶✨ I am honestly looking forward to more of your theories and videos~😄🌸✨

My theory is all the dates for the logs are different because the logs are being documented on different planets with each year and month varying between planet to planet, that or Sigurd is just using the date and year of his home planet making it easier for him to keep track of time so he doesn't go crazy. This is a good possibility for Sigurd knowing about the old birds while his notes are dated so long ago in the past.

9:39 my personal theory for that is although the first *known* sighting of an old bird was centuries later, what if sigurd encountered some whilst exploring the abandoned moons? this makes sense because he clearly doesn’t alert the public (and probably doesn’t have a way to) about the butler or jester that don’t have data entries, so he wouldn’t do the same with old birds, and so the public never knew about it until centuries later.

I just came up with a theory similar to your old bird coilheads one (tho not as strong as yours). Coilheads were designed to destroy nutcrackers. Nutcrackers can only see movement, which coils work around by stopping when seen and nuts are weak in their neck, which coils destroy as seen in the player corpse model. The destroyed arms could be to stop it from shooting if the first part fails
@samherken

I have some theories for the, "supernatural" monsters. For the nutcrackers and jesters, some sort of alien had taken over decorations/toys to hide and use as protection. Then the ghost girl is death from mental decline due to her mechanics being phycological and her not being seen by others, and being unscannable. Finally the butler is the hardest one to figure out, but my beat guess is that it could be a corpse being controlled by the hornets (as stupid as that sounds).

The idea of Butlers being artificial servants and home defense mechanisms seem the most likely I have an idea that Coilheads were the remains of superhumans(explaining the ridiculous height and bod) repurposed via hollowing out and replaced with mechanical bits. Alternate theory. The coil heads were manufactured on artifice by the buemac empire, however the broke loose from the facilities and cause mayhem. This required a new machine to counter it and regain control, with the added benefit of it being handy for war. This is why there are no records of its creation, as it was never meant to exist in the first place Main clue I use for this is the starting cut scene being at a desk loosely similar to that found in a warehouse on artifice This can also explain the only recent discovery of coilheads, cause they could have largely been countered by the old birds before ever being discovered in the first place

I actually have a theory on how the mansions could be important. With the war going on and how things had been going, they needed places to stay besides the facilities that were on other moons. They also needed a way to get away from war itself, seeing as how it had all spread to other moons. Well, this is why they built the mansions, for people who couldn’t or wouldn’t fight and just wanted to stay out of the war. I also have theories on the creatures inside, including the Ghost Girl and the Masked. Number on is obviously the Nutcracker. They’re not called the “Guard of the House” for no reason. These creatures were most likely created, or were spawned, to…well, protect the mansion. They would walk around, leave people alone, stuff like that. They guarded them. But, at some point soldiers would come in and start taking people out. They’d found the people who were just trying to take shelter. Which, in turn, set the Nutcrackers off. The Nutcrackers, having gone on a complete rampage and killing both people inside and soldiers, they became hostile toward any living human that they came across. This is probably why we hear a Nutcracker firing in the background of the opening cutscene of V50 after the alarms start and the Coil Head escapes. Second is the Jester, which is honestly pretty hard to explain. My theory on it is that the Jesters were created to entertain children at the mansion. They would start winding when they heard crying or fighting or something like that, and either scare or comfort the kids because of how big and menacing they are. My other theory that goes into this is that the Jesters we see now didn’t have the face and stuff that pops out long ago. They probably had some sort of mechanic inside them that showed a clown or a dog, or something of the sorts. But, when soldiers came in and started firing, the Jesters went APE. Using the blood and bones of the people that had been murdered, they gained a resentment toward humans and used these human’s bodies as a disguise to cover up their original form so they wouldn’t have to look back at it all. Third is the Masked, which is also hard to explain. My theory is that the Masks themselves are possessed by spirits of people that had died inside the facilities and just want to be free, which is why they take over your body and in turn find their one way out. The Masked then goes to try and find another person to infect, which puts a spirit inside of a mask on them as well, allowing them to escape their torture of being bound to a Mask for the rest of time. Fourth is the Ghost Girl. I’m assuming the Ghost Girl is, obviously, a little girl who had been murdered during a raid and is now a malevolent spirit that goes after one person at a time. Maybe this little game had been played with her, and that’s how she died. With multiple people hunting her, one after the other, her hiding from them before eventually being found and killed. Fifth is the Butler. They could have been created as a way of trying to make a person who would help them live and keep clean. But, the Butlers, having gained the ever common trope of “butler murders master”, go on and take the lives of many when they are alone. This allows them to live in secrecy of what they truly desire while blending for the most part with the people inside. The reason they have a swarm of hornets inside is beyond my knowledge, but I assume it is a source of power for the body of the Butler. I’m unsure of if any of this would be correct, or has already been debunked, but I truly feel that some of this is a little correct. I just wanted to point out some things that I thought it of.

My personal theory is that LC takes place in some sort of time looping pocket dimension, where we play as the 4 original crew from the logs, and when we fail to meet the quotas, the monster resets everything. Maybe the monster lured the 4 into the job, took them to said pocket dimension and now they're forever trapped repeating the same job over and over. The radiation from scanning seems to be the main cause for the memory loss, but what if memory loss is also a side effect of being reset so much. Time keeps moving outside the pocket dimension and so the monster potentially updates the time stamps on the computer and stuff

A point that could be made about the mansion maps and the supernatural. As we may not know now due to logs or info, it could be that these are merely due to the psychological torment of the individuals that embark on this journey. They always start off on small and risk averse moons, that slowly become more and more dangerous along with encountering more horrifying things. Thus, it could quite literally be the workers on this ship end up losing their minds entirely.

If you want to get super scientific with it, time passes a lot slower for one undergoing space travel. So if the time stamps are in reference to a specific location, and Sigurd is traveling vast swathes of the galaxy, if you stretch quite a bit it is possible for the time to pass at that specific location much faster than it did for Sigurd. Think of interstellar as a good theatrical example. This is the only way I could imagine Sigurd being alive while also the logs having such a large time discrepancy.

The shadow person was removed in the updated intro video, but we can still see the silhouette of a person being casted on the wall in fornt of us as they opened the door behind us and the light shone inside our office. So not that much was changed actually, possibly just for the sake of making everything more vague One more thing I saw in another comment, the Coil Heads might've been created to counter Nutcrackers, since they have the behavior of immediately stop moving after being "seen", this could explain why Nutcracker(s) appeared in a facility that was supposed to manufacture and test Coil Heads A weapon made to fight against a previous one, contributing to wars without reasons
