Why cant i simply plug the zero breeze AC plug into my yeti 1000x and power the zero breeze that way? I cant get an answer for that. Thank you

You can for sure. I have a whole video testing how long the battery lasts with each way of powering. That is the only issue. It's less efficient to run off the AC inverter so you get less run time. If that's not a concern for you then that might be your best bet.

I own a Zero Breeze Mark 2 with one small battery that I bought and paid for myself. I’ve also just ordered the ElecHive power station because the one battery doesn’t have enough capacity to last all night when it’s really hot. Anyway, I was wondering how you became an affiliate to review their products? This is something I’d be very interested in doing and I believe I can provide a unique perspective because I’m a truck driver and I use the Zero Breeze products to avoid idling. Thanks for any information!

I originally purchased the original and the Mark 2 with my own money. I just made several testing videos because I loved the product and wanted to share with the world. The videos got some views and ZB reached out to me. I don't know how many views you'd need for ZB to take notice, but I probably had views in the six figures by that time.

I can't say for sure as I'm not familiar with any Anker products, you may want to check out the anker website, or sometimes user forums or groups have more info. I can say I've owned and researched many others and I haven't seen one in recent years that didn't offer pass-through charging, so it's hopeful.

There are a LOT of variables, day/night, how hot it is outside, how hot the space is inside, etc. I think I got around 4hrs on a good day running mine constantly in a hot vehicle under full sun with a 1000WH battery. It's been a while since I've run it out completely, so best to watch my videos where I run the battery out completely in a hot car to make sure. If you're running it at night, you'll get much more runtime.

We replaced an old Dometic in our 36 foot camper (vented). kzbin.infoUgkxDDbPbIlwLRcX_ntp51ui5UMtAUGpHYxE The install was a simple swap, all holes lined up, the electric plug back in with no trouble. Getting it on the camper was the most "difficult" part of it, and my friend made it look easy. I've seen people "sled" them up ladders as well though. I watched a KZbin video for instructions, very easily done. Some say it doesn't come with instructions, but I found the instructions under the ac in the box. I didn't need them, but they were there.It works well to keep a 36 footer comfortable, all by itself. It doesn't seem to be any quieter than the original, but it isn't any louder either. We're very pleased with it. Esp with the ease of swapping them out.

I have heard some have problems using while driving. I'm not sure what the official answer would be from zero Breeze. I'd imagine it all depends on how stable, and level it is while driving. Air conditioners don't like to be unlevel, or jostled around.

Thats great that Zerobreeze contacted you. I contacted them when i originally purchased the Mark 1 AC about the fact that the unit needed major modifications to work and to see if they would consider accepting it back so I coukd get this new unit. No communication back, hmmmm. I did end up using this new unit and the main problems with this unit at least for a van set up is the following (I am no engineer, so I know there are challenges): 1.)24v current requires a 12v to 24v step up converter, which will generate a significant amount of heat. 2.) If you run it off an inverter, the AC house adapter generates heat. 3.) Due to the size of the BTUs, the compressor and condenser coils needs to be outside to maximize cooling capacity. 4.) Way to much plastic material that eats up space in your rig, makes it cumbersome with the hoses. Oh and your voice is legit, great video😊

Good points. On the first one...when I upgraded my 12 to 24V converter to a higher amperage model it didn't get nearly as hot as the lesser one I had. I could grab it most of the time. I guess if it's rated for more amps than you're using, it struggles less. But for sure, putting a heat generator in a space you're cooling is well....

No problem. I don't recall off hand. I mention it in my videos about the converter install and in those video descriptions. 20 or 25amp. I runs off 12v batteries via a 12-24V converter. The original air conditioner was 12V, and that was one rather large issue with it. It required twice the amps to be pushed through small gauge wires that got really hot. Run all that in a hot environment, and well, mine failed.

@@Polymathicus Oh yeah that makes sense. SO- atm I do not have the battery for the ZB…In order to run off my 12v power bank (Bluetti’s AC300 500ah battery/750w solar) I would need ONLY the ZB battery and their 12-24v converter? Also thinking to just get more battery/solar and run it on the 3000w inverter (110v). Ugh such a dilemma. I am tryna avoid buying the 12v AC (5000.buckaroos). What do you think? I am in a van- PRomaster 2500/well insulated. 2 pets, so I need something to top of the heat-freezing cold isn’t necessary.
@Polymathicus
@Polymathicus 11 ай бұрын
I should mention first that the Mark 2 is only 2300BTU's, so it won't cool down a van that's in the sun at all during the day in fact it won't even hold temp if the sun is beating down on it. It will only cool down what it's blowing on right in front of it. Overnight is a different story, and some have had success blocking off parts of their vans and overinsulating the space. Your dash ac in the promaster might be something like 25,000BTU's just for comparison. You don't need any ZB batteries to run off your AC300, just a 12-24V converter that you can buy from ZB, or on Amazon, and wire it up like this video you commented on. If Amazon, get one that is rated at 20amp or higher. Then you just have to make a cable that plugs into any of the output ports of your AC300 that is rated at least 20amps. If you get more batteries/solar, I'd still run it off your batteries as the Mark 2 runs off DC power, so keeping it all DC is the most efficient, you only have to feed the Mark 2 with 24V, whether that be a 24V battery, or a 12-24V converter. I know how it is with all the options, stressful. If you can envision all the things you'll be powering a couple years down the road that might help steer the decision.

Almost all vehicles have air conditioners built in. Is there a way to run the vehicle;s air conditioner with the engine not running, since it is there and ready to cool. Could/would it be possible to come up with a way to activate the vehicle compressor by adding a special device or belt to rotate the compressor already there, and to wire the air conditioning system to run the compressor and fans on a 12v battery converter.
@Polymathicus
@Polymathicus Жыл бұрын
That's the issue. Finding a way to turn the belt driven compressor attached to the engine that usually requires a big 'ol engine to turn, and get enough air flowing through the condenser coil in front of the radiator without driving forward for an extended period of time. This is why these battery powered air conditioners are such a big deal.

Straight DC power is always a more efficient option as you don't lose power in the DC/AC/DC conversion when you plug it into the inverter 120V outlets. In other videos of mine you can see the difference in power draw between both ways. It's not a HUGE difference, but if you're working off a smaller battery and every watt hour is precious then it's worth it to go the DC converter route. Just need to make sure your battery DC outlet/output can handle the 20-25amp max draw.

@Polymathicus
@Polymathicus Жыл бұрын
Yes you can plug into the AC (inverter) power outlet in a power bank using the included AC power adapter. The issue with this is that you are converting your DC power bank to AC power at the plug, then the Mark 2 power adapter is converting that back into DC to power the Mark 2. So you are losing efficiency and runtime. Not a lot, but if that extra runtime is important to you then it's something to consider. I run mine straight DC power so there is no conversion back and forth from DC/AC/DC. Do keep in mind that the Mark 2 runs on 24V DC, so if your power bank is 12V (probably), you'll need a 12/24V boost converter if you decide to power with straight DC power. I show how to do this on my other videos.
