It is Just not smart to put a betta fish by guppy's because the can fight together

I have 2 rope fish. 60 gal. Gravel substrate. They get along very well & sometimes swim upward with their bodies together in a twisting motion (facinating). They eat frozen shrimp & sinking shrimp pellets. I have a rather large open bottom cave in which they have hallowed out a hole in the gravel & they stay down there together. When they are swimming around, I have to approach the tank walking softly to watch them, Otherwise the foot vibration will send them hiding. I will try the beef heart & chopped shrimp. Cool Fish & great addition to the tank!!!

Hello! I just wanted to let you know this worked really well for me, I love how unobtrusive it is. I have 2 small tanks (5 and 10 gallon, one for shrimp and another for nano fish). I had picked up some HOB filters on sale because with such small tanks it felt bad giving up the internal real estate for the sponge filters I was running, but I definitely wasn't prepared for just how much flow they created even at the lowest setting. There are lots of videos about baffle techniques. This used trash most people have on hand or can get easily, it's clear, and I think it retains the surface agitation/gas mixing better than something like filter foam would.

86 degrees is not a “slightly” raised temperature! Notwithstanding the fact that Rams can be healthy and happy at 82 degrees where most plants can thrive in a healthy way.

How do you get Agale off your live plants I tard every thing but it won't come off
@TropicalFishGuy13 күн бұрын
For plants with broad leaves like Anubias I use my thumb and forefinger to wipe it off. For some other stem plants I dip them in a bath of peroxide for a couple of minutes. Don’t do this with Java moss or fern. Otherwise turn your lights off except when you are looking at the tank for a couple of weeks. That’s the real answer. Usually too much light is the issue.

My GBR is my center piece fish. He is housed with 2 Ruby Rams, 4 Columbian tetras, 4 Buenos Tetras and assorted loaches. GBR comes to the front of the tank at feeding time and lights up with every color of the rainbow. When I get close and talk to him he squirms like a puppy. He seems to know where to go to be in the best light.

Are these illegal to keep in certain states such as Washington? I read online that they are. Also, can they be kept with other fish? Such as community fish? (Just watching the video)
@TropicalFishGuy26 күн бұрын
They are illegal in some states since they are predatory. No, they should not be kept with community fish. They will eat them. You might want to look at dwarf frogs. They look similar but stay small and would be good for some community fish. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@KaltrinaDemiri25 күн бұрын
@@TropicalFishGuy I saw someone was selling them but I live in Washington so I can’t keep them. I used to have dwarf frogs so I’ll get a couple of those instead. Thank you 😊

Just added 12 to my American cichlid tank with severum, geos, and a blue acara. Perfect little addition. Fast, robust and just a great and cheap fish. I played around with adding like mascara barbs, Denison’s, etc but they were expensive, harder to find and no more exciting than these tetras. Paid 2.49 each at my lfs,

I just read to turn your tank off for days. I've been beating my heat against the wall doing water changes I've even ordered Purigen and bags. Been reading everything out there. Well now I've turned my tank off, and I will wait.
@TropicalFishGuyАй бұрын
Yeah, it’s usually light or nutrients. I do a big water change once and don’t turn on my light for a week or so. I don’t black out the tank or anything. I still watch the fish without the light on so it’s still fun.
