Male odessa barbs do look amazing when they color up. I keep odessa barbs in my 6 foot community tank and I love them. If you're interested in suggestions for your tank with the neon tetras, how about starting with a few more swordtails including a male with a nice sword and another female or two. Then a neon dwarf gourami, a school of harlequin rasboras, and maybe some otocinclus.
