it a shame this track is going down into limbo. There's only few seasonal local race now and the politics of the region has completely shut down any events that are too loud to the local standards.

while I like Interlagos having a bigger lap, I wouldn't bother changing the track that every year brings the best race of the year. Instead we have a lot of boring tracks to worry about.

The proposed change is a great idea. Also the boxes can be moved from where they are now to the long back straight, giving much more space and infrastructure to the teams. However perhaps the biggest issue as of today is the Cafe curve, right before the start line. This is probably one of the mos dangerous curves in the circuit today, and there is no simple solution for a runoff area. I have being going to Interlagos since the early 70’. There was nothing like the old circuit, but I have to admit it was way too dangerous for todays speeds. I enjoyed the video.

With all the current engineering and paving technology, Monza's banked curves should once again be part of the track, if it's for safety reasons, speed limits and overtaking are prohibited, it would be a great show.

Racing God JIM CLARK - Unmatched Maestro. By far the Greatest Driver Ever - No doubt. He is and was "The Best of the Best" (Fangio, Senna, Prost, Stewart and countless others about Clark). No other driver in history until today was so superior as Clark - No other driver as so much "Grand Slam" - Pole/Win/Fastest Lap/Leading every lap of the race - like him. And all that from just 72 starts... ! This man is the Olymp of driving - the Michelangelo of racing - a dynamic art at the highest level. So smooth, so precise, so fast....simply out of this world. One, who won in Spa by 5 minutes (!) in monsoon rain with only one hand at the wheel (!) because of gearbox trouble...One, who takes back a complete lap (!) in Monza and back into the lead... One, who took pole on the original 22,8 km Nürburgring track by 9 (!) seconds and more....One who won Indy by 2 whole (!) laps... In 1965 he had the most succesful year of any driver in the history of the sport: He won the F1 World Championship, the Tasman Series with F1 cars, the Indy 500, the British and French F2 Championship, the British Touring car Championship, totally over 50 (!) victories in one season !!!! For eternity and by lightyears unmatched in the sport. That`s just some examples of his mesmeric unique genius...

Still the greatest sounding Racing V12 ever built for both Sports car prototypes and F1 that Matra V12 for tye time it was built and even with many current hypercars sporting high reving V12 power units none sound has good as this car from near half a century ago. To be fair the the new cars, everything is Decibels limited now, anybody who has not seen a old historical Race or Rally car running will not understand just how loud these cars were compared. I mean the overrun on the downshift and the induction sound are now mostly things of the past. I am guessing this was shot by the Elf film team and incar french pionners that also fitted Cameras on special mounts to film these laps, you do not see a lot of their none F1 in or oncar fillms. Laps of the Gods were two such collections that could be found on VHS tape back in the 80's and well into the late 90's and early 00's if you searched hard. Those only delt with Elf sponsored F1 cars. Luckly they were lated transferred to DVD format and maybe Blue Ray. Formats. But thanks for this rare film.😅

@@ourafilmes Yes, I agree. Two legends, and a crazy year with 0.5 points to win the WC. Prost losing. Again. Also crazy years. 1982 with the things around Ferrari, then Keke WC with a single race win. 1983 another action packed year. Prost losing by 2 points there. Security was lax back then at the track. We couldn't afford a ticket, but climbed over a wall. :)

Imola was such a pretty circuit before 1979 when F1 went there for a non championship race and it was modernised. I think your footage is from the 1963 non championship race however rather than 1962 as until that time it was mainly used by motorbikes (though not completely).Have you seen the footage Roy Pagliacci posted on KZbin of racing there in the early 70's ?
@ourafilmes9 күн бұрын
Damn... After investigating more, yes - you are 100% right. Although the video mentions 1962 about 3 times, indeed it is wrong. Jo Bonnier just left Porsche and this was his first race for Rob Walker and... Indeed, he was in Porsche until the end of 1962. I love to be a small channel but my followers are amazing knowledgeable people that know much more than me and that correct my mistakes! Thanks mate for your comment! regards!

I'm a Brazilian drone operator and every now and then I have the opportunity to work in some productions in Interlagos... It always amazes me when we are granted access into the track by using the remaining parts of the original circuit (it's actually the best way to go around different points of the track without actually getting into the race track). The former turns 1 and 2 are commonly used as a parking lot on big events where there is no temporary grandstands, and the following back straight is used for drag racing events. The straight between old turns 4 and 5 are used for police driver training every now and then, and all the terrain around turn 8 is the main parking lot of the circuit nowadays (there is no sign of the old track there anymore, so no way to emulate the old circuit, unfortunately). All the other parts of the circuit are still there, some even with old curbs and guardrails... A lot has been spoken in the last couple of years about building a new track to host F1, but anything has come into fruition, and honestly, it won't. It's just too expensive and very difficult to make profitable. I would love to see the current track being enlarged using some of the old circuit as proposed on the video, but I believe nothing will happen until F1 demands such a change to keep Interlagos in the calendar... Currently the biggest problem of Interlagos is the access and circulation of people around the circuit during the GP days. It's a nightmare to get in and out.... Just as a fun fact: I currently fly model airplanes with some folks that used to fly with Senna back in the 80"s. They used to go to Interlagos to fly, and use the back straight as a landing strip... so I guess there is nothing like showing up with a rising F1 star (at the time) on the track entrance to be granted access and fly toy airplanes....
