I like the paint but the legs just seem so skinny and small. And I go for a little more pizzazz on the hardware like they got these knobs that have like a sunburst design in them that's gold that's what I go for the smallest ones of course but that's just me.

So glad I came across your video, it makes things so easy to follow. I am a beginner for making a base so want to know how do I align dowel holes for the legs & the rail? Thanx

Again, a high-end piece. Love this one. Fun to watch you fiddle with the paint removal. Only thing I would have done differently is I would have replaced the broken handle end with a wood, but that's just me. I love the finished product. Another win, Emily.

Another high-end furniture company. When new these could have been purchased for somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,300 each. How in the heck do you find this good stuff? I'm deeply impressed. That top was certainly a struggle, but you did it proud, as always. Great redo, Emily. Bravo!

You didn't mention that Mainline by Hooker is a SUPER high-end line of furniture. Very nice redo. Hope you cashed out on this one. It's priceless!

Someone needs to make a video on how to restore/recreate the blond lacquer finish. Many of us actually like it. Some old collectible radios and televisions are finished in this and need help

I didn't catch the last product after Murphy's. Is it also a cleaning product or a moisturizer for the wood?

I'm sorry I don't like the finish. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I seem to be in the minority.

Retired English teacher. The verb is to prime. The noun primer. (Sorry, I can’t help myself.) Any newbies out there who have found dictionary definitions of primering as an appropriate use of this word?

Agree with the others, thank you for not slapping paint on it. It takes talent and professionalism to restore and refinish. Paint is just a cover up.

Whenever I have seen anyone else popping on some veneer over laminate they have ALWAYS sanded the surface. I think not doing so was a mistake. It could pop up on your customer years down the road if it hasn't already before you sold it. You are right about the fumes of the contact cement -- wow! I never use a respirator for stain, paint or poly, but that stuff is bad. Definitely should be outside if at all possible. The fumes were even deadly the next day with the garage door open after the small boards I put together were supposedly dry. There was not laminate on the side? There was wood there? Did you peal it off? I got a laminate top and sides just below the top running all the way around. The laminate will have to be covered with the veneer in my case. I never considered removing it.

WOW Can’t believe that originally the manufacturer used tinted lacquer to finish the piece, hiding that beautiful wood grain and details! It doesn’t make sense to me but so happy you found this and restored it to better than new!
