I believe in the toll houses everything has telos(purpose). And I love your videos and I love you Fr Abbot Tryphon. Geronda you are inspiring in every talk for me to take God and my eternity more seriously thank you. St Paul tells us everything is synergy between us and the Lord. I believe that and see that in my experience in the church whole heartedly. Thank you to Abbot Tryphon and whoever runs his channel.

I want to be a monastic. I have so much fear and not alot of money or vehicle to visit monasteries. I am still a catechumin and I need to be baptized hopefully this next year. I don't think anything would be more fulfilling to me than to be working hard and learning obedience and constant internal prayer around others who wish to dedicate their lives to God as well. However I have 2 children who don't live with me that I pay child support for. So I really am in a dilemma. Because no matter what I want to be a monastic more than anything in this world. So I'm quite sad. Hahahaha I know I'm a terrible father. I don't get to raise my kids anyways they get raised by atheist secular because I used to be an addict. Woah is me. Just kidding but I do get depressed about this. Severely. Pray for me. Thanks, Adam

Thank you so much Father for the powerful words about the forgiveness for others. Salvation is found through the love of others. May the Lord have mercy and forgive me, a sinner 🙏🏼!

Father Tryphon I dropped off 15 yr aged tobacco leaves organic from Sonoma, Buddha citrus and pomegranates to the Russia Orthodox Church on Geary. Tobacco made me think of original exonomy of America

I think I needed this today. I've been a very "passive" Christian this week and it's not really acceptable. Thank you Father, God bless.

The question is, if God is omniscient, what need does He have to test our trust when He already knows it?
@rosalba37013 күн бұрын
But WE don't know Him fully. The test is for our own personal spiritual growth. We need to exercise our love for God by deeds of love and the willingness to submit to His will. Love is patient. And living in times of trial by fire, we can see/understand manifestations of His great mercy and love for us. All to praise him all the more. Glory to God.

because the struggle is our salvation, there was a Saint who asked “who taught you how to pray so well?”, and the Saint replied “the devil”. when we are tempted we grow closer to God through the struggle
@laceygreenwood3 күн бұрын
But how can we know if we really love Him, if our love isn't tried? How will we grow? How will we make any progress by presuming on God's omniscience? As mentioned above, we don't know much, esp. about God; it is by suffering that we make spiritual progress, and submitting to His will, which is much easier said than understood and done.

[I am using my husband's phone. I am linda/Mary] Thank you. Only last night I was thinking about St. Ambrose because I was talking about the words on the monk based on St. Ambrose in one of Dostoevsky's novels, as I understand it. The monk says 'Beauty will save the world'. Were those words from St. Ambrose before Dostoevsky used them..??? Dear St. Ambrose, pray to God for us.. ☦️📿☦️

When I first found Orthodoxy, I had the common sentiment that it felt like I found water after being stranded in the desert. I couldn’t get enough and I lacked discernment and did not temper myself. I quickly began to neglect my responsibilities, including loving my fiancé, in favor of prayer and reading the Fathers. We brought this to our priest and he said something that has always stuck with me: “Look at you, you’ve got the Gospel in one hand, the Psalter in the other hand - there’s no hands left for you to hold her hand.” This instantly set me straight. Thank you for this reminder today, Father!
