I recently visited a monestary for the first time. While i was there, all my aches seemed to have disappeared. Even through working as hard as we did, i felt nothing but peace. Coming back into my daily life only reinforces my desire to return. I highly recommend going on a pilgrimage if God wills it. It is an experience you will treasure. ☦️

I would encourage folks to visit the All Merciful Savior Monastery as well. In the early 90’s my family moved to Washington state and the church we went to would make pilgrimages to the monastery. It was quite new then but I’m sure it’s even more beautiful now. We’ve been long gone from Washington, but the monastery lives in my heart.

Saw a very hostile article about you in the vashon newspaper. God bless you for being a light of Christ on Vashon. I'll be stopping by soon since I had no idea a place like this existed here. God bless.

How lovely! I hope one day my husband would visit and spend time in holy fellowship. Thank you for your heart-felt invitation!
@ericlammerman27775 ай бұрын
Women can visit, too. I don't think they can spend the night on the property; but they can still pray and worship and engage in fellowship during the day. So...perhaps you and your husband should spend a weekend on Vashon Island.

Your support to my family after my brother’s successful suicide help in more ways than words can express. Unfortunately, these days, our words are misunderstood and twisted by some that are unable to think critically or abstractly… but at the time of Ivan’s death, your words were exactly what we, as a family, needed. I will never forget you taking me aside and sharing your personal story… ❤️ Thank you! I am sorry you have endured so much rage from the Vashon community, it is not the same loving and tolerant community of my childhood. Unfortunately, the rage is misdirected and actually creating more hate. So sad there is no awareness of this… I believe, I understand what your intentions were with you video that has since been removed… As a deadly sin, pride is believed to generate other sins and further immoral behavior and is countered by the heavenly virtue of humility. Maybe a different slogan, other than Pride, would be a better fit… just a thought. Again, thank you, and speedy recovery dearest Father. ❤️Natasha

Dear, dear Abt. Tryphon, First of all, thank you for the beautiful Welcome! sign, and the BEAUTIFUL invitation, even though i cannot accept it. Dear Abbot, i have a request about something very sad: There was someone who died last year who was part of a university community of which my husband was and i still am a part. We knew him from when we first came, but we hadn't seen him in a long time. He had a long illness, and several friends helped take care of him.. To my sorrow, his body was cremated. Well, he spent the happiest years of his childhood growing up on Vashon Island, (of ALL things), and had wanted his ashes scattered around the island.. (sigh) Just recently a few of those friends flew there and did scatter his ashes. I know not where, of course. I had already sent some of your videos at times to my closest friend of them. And then i let her know that that is where YOU and the monastery are. I don't think they saw it.. But they did love the island. So, my request: now that you have a new 'guest', whose remains are scattered (sigh) on the island, if you are allowed to pray for the soul of someone who in ignorance chose such an end, would you please pray for the soul of Allen?? Thank you.. ☦📿💝📿☦xxx

I read on a Facebook group that Abbot Tryphon was rushed to the emergency room shortly after this video was released. Is everything okay with him? Praying for him either way.

Fr. Tryphon, I appreciate the monastery and what it can offer. However, given my calling to serve the poor and see those who don't have a home or job it troubles me that America has monasteries that are fit for king and queens when a person doesn't have a roof over their head and monasteries have a place to sleep, food to eat, a place to shower. I read an article from a young homeless man with a master's degree who said the following which is true. He said it used to be the people who were poor and homeless having little of their own were considered saints and holy. We know this from some saints we read about. I truly struggle with the American monasties having so many rich earthly blessings while our neighbors are suffering from the lack of those blessings. We are supposed to be a community that embraces the underprivileged. I try and recall the saints that had little and served those around the them. I call on them. It doesn't mean American monastries aren't holy. You just receive so many blessings when we care for the underprivileged that you have and they don't.
