Great hunt for sure Dewayne, just purchased a manticore for back up to my D2. Were you using depth audio? I was told all terrain low conductors was good for relics. Still reading manual and figuring this thing out. Been an XP user since 2011. Any good tips for relics with the Manticore? Glad to see you doing some more videos. Thanks.

@@cwhunter7127 thanks man! Yep that was the Depth Audio theme. It reminds me of Pitch tones on the D2, which I love. I’m still sort of working out what I like best for relics on the Manticore, but so far AT General with the depth theme seems to work well. Love the M9 coil too! The Manticore and D2 is an awesome combo for sure.

Hey Markkus! Man I love the M9 coil. Its a big part of the reason I decided to buy another Manticore. Not only is it deep, but being so thin, its very lightweight and just makes the whole detector balance very well. I have all of the Manticore coils, M8, M9, M11 and M15... But to be honest, I think the M9 is just about perfect for 90% of the places I hunt. If I could only keep one, it would definitely be the M9.

I just got this today for my birthday. Went out and all it was hitting on was all kinds of different rocks. I found one bolt and it made the same pitch as all the rocks. Is it my machine or my settings or what? It’s really frustrating and now I just want to return it and forget about it.
@gunsgearedc6820
@gunsgearedc6820 Ай бұрын
That is odd. I would first check the connections and make sure the coil is plugged in good. Then make sure the sensitivity isn’t set too high. Also, maybe try notching out the lower part of the scale to help eliminate some junk targets. If none of that helps, I would contact Dr Otek and see what they can do. Could be a faulty coil or cable. Either way, I’m sure they’ll get you fixed up.

I wonder if the Manticore would detect a 10lb stack of silver bullion in a pvc pipe about 12-15 inches underground? Is the signal stronger if there’s a lot of pure metal or does depth cancel regardless of how much is there? I’ve never seen this question addressed. 🤷‍♂️
@MetalDetectingNWGA
@MetalDetectingNWGA 2 ай бұрын
I would think so. The larger the target, the stronger the signal at depth. The Manticore is capable of hitting a single quarter sized coin at a foot in mild soil, so something that large should be easy. Of course, if the soil is highly mineralized or there's a lot of iron/junk around the target, that'll make a difference.
