XP Deus 2: Park Program Weirdness

Just a little annoyance that I noticed which only seems to happen in the Park Program. Little pieces of wire read in the coin range.

If the Deus2 for most modes including the General, Sensitive modes, Fast, GoldField, and BeachSens(P12) xmits two frequencies 8.08kHz and 40.4kHz but the Park/Relic/Beach mode uses 8.08kHz and 24.24kHz. Perhaps the General (and similar) modes using a weaker 40.4kHz (5th harmonic) may not cause the thin wire to react as well as perhaps a stronger 24.24kHz frequency (3rd harmonic) in Park. In General, the wire's weak response looks like trash but in Park, it responds strongly as non-ferrous. The 40.4kHz might be good for weak conductors like native gold and small jewelry, all of which need a more rapid hit from the switching magnetic field to induce a reciprocal target current. But one would figure the higher freq would be more readily attenuated in the gound and these modes would lack some depth and have poorer TID at depth. The Park/Relic/Beach(P11) provides a good compromise to get depth. Using 24.24kHz provides a relatively strong third harmonic. Seems the Deep/Diving modes use the lowest two freqs at 4.76kHz and 14.3kHz (also a 3rd harmonic) which should be less attenuated by ground minerals and the 14.3kHz signal appears to be stronger and predominating (perhaps best for med-high conductors like most coins). So, I don't think the different wire responses are revealing a problem but rather it demonstrates the underlying frequencies and their capabilities to illuminate different types of targets, hence why test gardens are so important.

Maybe so. I figured it had something to do with the frequency set being used but I lack all the technical knowledge of frequencies to explain it as you just did. Still seems kind of strange to me that a piece of tiny steel wire would sound off like a coin with the highest frequency at 24 kHz. Pretty annoying for a program designed for Parks either way.

Copper? Iron? It will do that with the AT Pro also when I'm in J3 freq and my Iron Disc is low and Sens is high. Doesn't do it any other time. Maybe? All the best Dewayne!

Hey Tim. The wire is steel. Sticks to a magnet. I’ve seen big flat iron or even round iron come high on my other detectors, but never seen a tiny piece of steel wire do it. Has to be something related to the frequency set used in Park mode. I’ve just been using modified versions of the General and Deep HC programs lately. They’ve been working well. ATB !

First ring I found with the XPD2, first day out with it, solid gold ring. You could not beat the nuance and short sound it gave off. Use Park mode quite a bit and do well with it. Like all the Sensitive Programs as well. Deep HC is still in learning phase. Don't think I quite have that one down. Going to experiment with Ground Senitivity as well. Nice vid

I had high hopes for park mode because of the frequency range. But it just plain acts strangely on all kinds of tests around iron for me. I e adjusted all kinds of settings and just can’t get it to play nice. Deep HC is by far my favorite so far in places like where you’re hunting.
