If you guys make it back to Hakone, I strongly recommend the Hakone Open Air Museum...because it is more like an incredible outdoor kids park that truly is a piece of interactive art. It would be perfect for the girls! The affogato coffee at the coffee shop is worth the wait and there is a nice hot springs foot bath to enjoy when you are done!

For the future, if you need to grab something inside the gates but are not taking a train the gate office will sometimes let you through or give you a special pass so you can hop in if you ask them. We do it sometimes to get the train station stamps or even popping into my favorite bakery chain. We return to Japan again and again with our kids to enjoy memories of when we lived there and we are so overjoyed to see you all love it as much as we do.

South Korea undoubtedly has many things that foreigners might find unfamiliar. However, there are some truly astonishing and surprisingly unique cultural practices that are deeply rooted in Korean society. And this goes beyond just 'convenience stores' or 'BTS'!" Feel free to ask if you need any further adjustments or additions!

Mammy and Daddy's Tokyo Night Adventure! Gyoza has a thin membrane-like substance, which the Japanese call "hane" (WIngs). This creates a crispy texture, which is what many Japanese prefer. I think beer is best for crispy & juicy dumplings. Thanks for the fun video!

I recommend Andy’s hashsimoto. It’s an izakyia owned by a foreigner. So lots of expats there and English is good. The reason Japan is picky about filming is because of the recent epidemic of nuisance streamers from overseas.

The theming of USJ is next level. For example, when you go through the tunnel to Nintendo land and the big reveal. It feels, like you are in super Mario land (ditto on Harry Potter). I am more neutral about the rides themselves with the exception of the forbidden journey - one of the best rides ever made. So theming to USJ but I would say disneySea has better rides. Disneyland Tokyo comes in third. Though Tokyo Disney is still the best Disney of the lot. Edit: FYI the ride you show when talking about forbidden journey is actually the hippgraph rollercoaster (just in case anyone gets confused).

8:00 my kids spend their time in their phones but, like you, I enjoy watching the scenery go by. It’s soothing. 17:37 no WiFi. My heart goes out to you. I’m the dad also who leads the family from one place to another and losing all Wi-Fi even with 3 backups is painful. I feel for yah. It was actually nice the last time we visited Japan ( in may) as my eldest two are young adults and my younger two are older teenagers so there was less burden on me finding everything (though I still planned everything).

It was a dream we had for a long time and after the Big C happened we knew we couldn't return to the daily grind like before so we had to make a change. I certainly can't recommend this lifestyle for everyone, it's certainly challenging at times and we do miss the comforts of having a home. but yeah, life's short, I'm not going to spend 10 hours a day 5 days a week in some office while someone else raises our kids. (ie school/daycare)
