If you come to Yehliu in autumn and winter, it will be very windy and cold. And it can be very hot in summer. So it is recommended to visit in spring.

The lantern one is a little environmentally questionable. Some claim they use biodegradable material, but people still find those lanterns/debris in the mountains nearby.

I completely agree. Here is an excerpt from our guidebook we wrote: "The main attraction here is the traditional sky lantern release. You'll see visitors writing their wishes and dreams on colorful paper lanterns before releasing them into the sky. It's a mesmerizing sight, especially as dusk approaches and the lanterns dot the darkening sky like floating stars. We participated in this tradition, carefully penning our wishes before watching our lantern float away. However, it's important to consider the environmental impact of this practice. As we drove away from Shifen, we noticed lanterns stuck in trees, floating down rivers, and littering the roadsides. This sobering sight made us question whether we would participate again. The lanterns are made of paper, bamboo frames, and some wire, with a fuel mixture of soybean oil and kerosene. While most do burn up, leaving only the bamboo frames, the cumulative effect on the environment is concerning. That said, there's a local economy to consider. The tradition supports lantern vendors, lantern makers, and even lantern collectors, who retrieve fallen bamboo frames from the woods to sell back to the makers. It's a complex issue that touches on cultural preservation, local livelihoods, and environmental conservation."

Taiwan's cities are not pedestrian-friendly. They need to take note of Tokyo and Seoul.

@張三-q8q You didn't actually HAVE to say anything; you chose being negative over spreading positivity. That being said, thank you for watching our videos and sharing your thoughts. We put a lot of effort into planning our trips to balance fun activities with rest, especially when traveling with children. While the itinerary may not have met your expectations, many of our viewers have enjoyed the pacing and variety we offer. We always welcome constructive feedback to improve future content. If you have specific suggestions for family-friendly destinations or activities, we'd love to hear them. Our goal is to create enjoyable and relatable travel experiences for all our viewers.

@@adamandlinds my thought is traveling with children is good experience of life but what you vlog is for your book content, so you hire tour bus. you should take local bus train MRT, even walk into street and alley without purpose, since you got A week so take easy not put everybody to war front. e.g. Taipei zoo is one day tour for visit, girls observe animals behavior and take a note fir record. can imagine upcoming EP3 zoo part will take 3 minute?

@張三-q8q Guess you'll have to wait for episode 3 to find out! But I hope you're not too disappointed that in episode 3 we take the super affordable MRT using our easy cards to head to New Taipei City, visit the underground city mall near Taipei main station then walk down the covered Huexi night market and several other markets. It's about balance when traveling with a family. Sometimes we do tours or hire a car. Sometimes we get lost down an alley or in the underground labyrinth of the metros. The guidebook was really designed as a companion to the KZbin videos not the other way around but you can really use either as a resource when planning your trip. But remember your trip is just that, it's yours. Make it yours. If you hate tours and private drivers then I hope you won't use either just because we recommended them. That would be a little silly and somewhat reckless. I hope you'll stick around for the rest of the series. But if you don't like us or our style maybe we're just not meant for each other and that's okay. We can still be friends. It's not you it's me.
