Yeah for a kids show it is surprisingly dark. It is either very goofy bright and colorful as the name would suggest but when it wants to get serious it will get VERY serious and so dark

Reminds me of Courage the Cowardly Dog and Avatar (ATLA) and Adventure Time. And Alice in Wonderland. Seriously. Durpleton's "We're all nude here" has to be a reference to "We're all mad here." That and the singing flowers. God I love this show.

Question is, why was the big bad killed at the end? So mercilessly by the one he loved. Why did she decide to take the responsibility of execution? Is it because she was hurt a lot? That's a bit selfish. It rubbed me the wrong way when I saw it for the first time. There's also the prevalent idea of men being bad and deserving absolutely no mercy in that era. Could it be politics? I don't fully understand.

My husband and I both thought this show was labeled wrong. I now prescreen all Y7 and PG shows because the content is all over the map. My kid is like ‘it’s y7’ and I’m like ‘no I’m not in the right head space to explain space genocide or anal to you today go watch paw patrol again.’
