100% Agree walking you notice way more small details things you miss when driving or riding. It is amazing how low the radiation has dropped. Urban walks can be magical

This is amazing. I don't want your story to end. Best PCT vlog I've watched.

the guy that said "thru hiking is hard" is so right! thats something that is not talked about nearly enough. Thru hiking is harder than any job I have ever had. its like, in regular life you get to go home after your 8 hour shift and you have weekends off, but when you are on trail you do not get to just stop walking after 8 hours and you dont get "weekends off"... lol. we are constantly moving, chugging ourselves up climbs, battling against the winds, the cold, the heat, the rain, and just the fatigue that you get from a full day of walking the trail. On top of all that, include all the blisters that we are forced to endure and just keep walking on them, and the pains and soreness that comes along with pushing ones body physically each and every day. thru hiking is freaking HARD WORK. its way more work than any other work you find in regular life. if you want a vacation, dont go thru hiking, just stay home and keep working your regular job. no joke.

This looks like a really good trail to hike before moving up North to the Michinoku Coastal Trail and getting a bit more of a nature fix here and there... Also hey, an unexpected Nicolas Pettas! (I'm new here - pretty sure I had been tipped off about so great American hiking videos by you - I'm looking forward to catching up!)

I took a year off and now I’m in first year university, it’s been good and I’ve been doing well but I feel stagnate. I keep saying the PCT will be my reward for graduating but I keep wondering if I should just do it now. My concern is it will give me too much perspective and I’ll never finish school but then again why is that a bad thing? I’m not lost but feel like I’m on a one way track that will lead to a good life but bland one. If anyone has any perspective for a 19 year old please share

Korndog here. I've sectioned the PCT through Washington literally dozens of times. My go to for food was instant spuds and freeze dried stew. For a kicker I would add gravy. Quick easy super light weight. Good eatin. Trail taught me to roll with the punches and be in the moment. Not enough time for all that I want to do.

The Fukushima Coastal Trail and Michinoku Trail are high on my list. Japan is such an underrated hiking destination. Did some of my favorite hiking there.

Wooooow! I didn´t expect to see Christine Thürmer in this video. I met her 2008 on the Appalachian Trail somewhwhere in Maine. We chatted in english for quite a while until we found out that we are both from Germany/Berlin...hahaha. Loved this video and the interviews. One more reason to visit Japan!
