I have just stumbled across this video this morning... Congratulations Mark 👏🏻👏🏻 The spoiler looks fantastic. Have you experienced any issues with the spoiler since you finished fitting it?
@DadDiaries7 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks! I've had no problems at all. No sagging of the cente section, no problems with the fitting or anything. I think where I put a ring of sealant on the top of the engine lid where the spoiler clamps down to it has definitely prevented issues with corrosion to the drilled metal (even though I did repaint it).

Thank you so much for your prompt reply Mark. I have just subscribed to your KZbin channel and I am going to go through your Toyota MR2 back catalogue. I have just bought my own 2002 model Roaster and I am looking to add some personal touches to it. Keep up with your excellent content 👍🏻

Unfortunately, the TRD spoiler is not currently being advertised on eBay any longer 😒
@DadDiaries7 күн бұрын
It may be useful to have a look on eBay.com (US site) to see if you can find one and import if you are happy to do that. Do check reviews on the different types / manufacturers as quality can vary a lot!

I always worry my quick release is gonna come loose as I'm flying around a decreasing radius corner at 120 km/h. It's solid and gives me no reason to doubt it, but it's still in the back of my mind sometimes. I'm not sure what the distance on mine is but it puts the steering wheel exactly where I want it to be. My MX5 never came with airbags so it wasn't a problem for me, but how did you change the steering wheel and remain legal? I hardly ever see any MR2 Spyders around here, I've always liked them
@DadDiaries7 күн бұрын
Hahaha yeah I know what you mean re the quick release. The steering wheel was for track setup (hence the buttons and sequential shift lights on the wheel), MOT rules have tightened up a bit on that tho for those who use them on road (unless you know a sympathetic MOT tester 🤪) I don't think it's getting tracked now I have the bike now as I plan to track that instead so I'm probably going to put the stock wheel back on.

I've never had much luck with either of the cheap type of extractors either. Been wanting to get a set of the hex extractors for awhile but haven't yet. The hook thingy is good for kickstand springs too. The tools I used most on motorcycles were an impact driver and a couple of JIS screwdrivers
@DadDiaries11 күн бұрын
I'm the same really, I had another set someone but because of the sale of my house an dpacking everything up I couldn't find them so baught those. I'd love to know what people recommend as a good set of extractors that have stood the test of time. The hook was a livesaver pulling the two springs on to the exhaust can. I've got an impact driver, I never think of using it other than buiding things frm timber, I should utilise it really as a lower power impact gun with some hex bits, thats a good idea. is JIS a brand or a specific type?

Good video, thanks for drawing attention to cut ratings on gloves. Just to add, ratings 1-5 are for the old 2003 version of EN388. Ratings A-F are for the newer 2016 version of EN388 (ISO). It uses an improved test method. Broadly old 1-2 = new A. Old 3-4 = new B. Old 5 = new C - F

Hello, I just installed this exact monitor arm but I can't seem to lower the arm in height ? How do you do it ?
@DadDiaries6 ай бұрын
If you can't pull the monitor down on the arm to effectively sit it on the desk you'll need to slacken off the tension screws in the arm which are adjusted depending on the weight of your monitor. The manual that came with the arms will show you which way, it's done with a hex key / Allen key.

I just repaired my 2007 jeep liberty. I had to replace the dust shield/backing plates on both sides. I first tried using the 14mm wrench, which I then proceeded to round over the corners of the nuts. Next, I tried using Vise Grip pliers, which I was able to remove 3 of the 8 nuts. Since my dust shields were rusted thru and loose, I removed them. I them used my 4" grinder and ground one side of the nut till the threads were showing, then whit Vise Grips I was able to remove the rest of the nuts. AS the replacement shields were 2 pieces, I did have to remove the Axle. In retrospect, if I had to do this again, I would have removed the Axles. This would have allowed me to use a 6-point socket to remove those nuts. To me, those nuts were interference fit threads. Also, if I had a Oxi-acetylene I would have tried heating them. As you have shown, both of the lever assembles were rusted together. In closing, this was a royal pain in the ass to repair.
@DadDiaries8 ай бұрын
Yeah it is a pain for sure... It's a terrible design for a vehicle that is design to hopefully be in it's rightful habitat off road and if it is then it's going to get corroded and gunked up with mud and grit aside from rust. Glad you got it done in the end! What a journey!
