Nice project, I am about to get my hpi pulse started after a couple of years. The change of exhaust is used as a tuning hopup, increase engine power. Don't forget to oil the new air filter if not already done, place in a plastic bag with a few drops of air cleaner oil and massage into filter till sponge colour uniform. I use around 6 drops of afterrun oil through glow plug hole after to finishing running buggy. Glow starters are normally rechargeable, and adapter fits in the end that goes onto the glow plug and either connects to charger or plugs into a wall socket. I have bought pull start string from eBay and rebuilt my pull start before, bit of a faff but doable. My starting procedure if it helps- remove hose from exhaust and blow to push fuel through lines to engine, when it reaches carb open throttle and blow for about a second. Loosen glow plug and pull/release pull start to distribute fuel. Fit glow starter and crank and once engine fired tighten glow plug. Hope that helps

Thanks for the info and advice 👍 I don't think the pull start is salvageable as the internal spring has been bent, I think someone has wrapped the pull round the spindle the wrong way and tried to pull. I might give it a go, take the spring out and straighten out the bend. I'm looking at about £20 for a new pull start I think. Thanks for your comment 🙂

Thats a pretty lengthy process for starting. Maybe for a first start of an untuned engine. My procedure is fill the empty fuel tank. Put finger over the exhaust outlet and pull the pull start a few times to get fuel to the carb put ignitor on glow plug and should start with in 3-5 pulls. Leave ignitor on for about ten seconds and then remove. Then put on shell and send it! When done run nitro out of tank. Let cool and then afew drops of after run in glow plug hole. And no offense on your process. Everyone does what works best for them...

I have a GV Hunter bought from new - hardly used, I just broke in the engine and put it away. (Bought about 15 years ago) The car is in pristine condition. You've given me the incentive to get it going again.

Very nice M8 👍🇦🇺 I have a pre-owned GS Storm Unlimited Truggy. It's current power plant is a Force 32 engine, and I've since obtained a pre-owned GO B21 engine. Obviously, a bit of "Homework" is involved in these projects, and obviously Users manuals for Machines and Engines are key. As far as your two exhaust pipes go, if it was me, I'd simply get the Machine running, and try both exhaust pipes, and go with the one that seems to give better performance.

Thanks for your comments, yes that's a fair point, it's gone on the backburner until I move house! More to come though

Nice build, I found the same original GV with the box and all accessories in it (it's a brand new car and I saw it). My friend told me he found it on eBay and wanted to sell it back at a good price! I love the car as it is not been used at all. Do you know how much it will be worth nowadays?

No idea I'm afraid, it's stil awaiting a full restore..it's in storage at the moment but I hope to get it out and work on it soon 👍

I like older servos. I find the newer ones too twitchy for me, or maybe I'm just getting old and feeble. I'm pretty sure the difference in the pipe is the way the baffles are arranged inside.
@DadDiaries4 жыл бұрын
Ahh yeah I didn't think about there being much internals in the pipe but I guess they are tuned in some way. If the stock servos work OK then I'll leave them as I know where I am with them. Depends on how the radio gear works I guess :)
