God how I *hated* Legs & Co. Absolutely hated it when they came on. Can't get the group/singer? Legs & Co! No music video available? Legs & Co! The cop-out solution to fill three or four minutes. I'm sure the girls were lovely, but the dance routines always seemed super-naff, the costumes were awful...just BAD all round. If I were straight, maybe I'd have enjoyed "ogling the girls", and I guess if it had been a bunch of hot guys I might've enjoyed it at least a little bit. It's nice to hear how well-spoken everyone was back then. England certainly went downhill since those days. Thanks for uploading - even though I never enjoyed them at the time, I love seeing this stuff now.

People outside of the USA will/may not have heard of him so....Richard "Red" Skelton was an American entertainer best known for his national radio and television shows between 1937 and 1971, especially as host of the television program The Red Skelton Show. Died: 17 September 1997 (age 84 years)

I remember the day I got a call whilst working at a garage in Wimbledon. The voice on the other end of the phone asked about getting his car booked in for a service. I thought for maybe two seconds, and asked if it was David Essex. It was indeed. He came in the following day. Of course I already knew him, and was a great fan. I was into racing bikes at the time too, so we had a great chat. He was indeed a very nice laid back bloke to be with. That was one of many interactions I had with David. A laid back genuine bloke. Nothing like a lot of the so called stars ✨ of nowadays. Thank you so much for sharing this video. 👍

Rather frightening animation at the beginning - Proteus meets Bozo the Clown. And why is the precocious one insisting that Terry-Thomas is "typecast"? He may have been, but why does Clever Youth twist his arm over it? "Do you wish you'd been able to play different characters?" Why not give Terry-Thomas an opening to speak extemporaneously, instead of micromanaging the interview? - Well, too late now.

I wonder what happened to his accent? He is rather well-spoken in the footage from this era, but his "regional" accent has become much stronger in the interviews in recent years. Why is that?

Chrisopher Stauli who played Alan in the spin off of Rising Damp said that his lowest point was when he was working with Leonard on the film. He believed Leanard resented him and that his sadness and frustration of Alan's passing was directed at him and so making it difficult during the filming. Irrespective of whether fellows actors had a pretty tough time with him, I always enjoyed watching Leonards performances.

This film should’ve been delayed, they should’ve gone with the original vision of shooting it out in a town in America. Limitations ruined it because the actors strike.

I spent most this interview wondering how Frankenfurter would corrupt this young naive seeming interviewer. Tim Curry was a perfect gentleman during this interview or perhaps it was English sarcasm.
@rottensquid
@rottensquid Ай бұрын
He really is a Brad type, isn't he? That pageboy? Who's he trying to fool? Tim was apparently very careful not to let the character infect his own identity. Playing Frank must have been like becoming a rock star overnight. That kind of persona can be dangerously seductive. In fact, I think that's partly what the movie is about, the dreadful crash after you let such a Dionysian figure take over your psyche.

How'd you know he was going to die in 2020 in 2016??? Wow! This channel is witchcraft... But I do really like Geoffrey very much. He has (present being on film always) a grace and underestimated sense of comedy. Reminds me of older men when I was very young in my life - like my uncle. Educated men with wit and wisdom. Quiet and quick.
