I think I read the same Nintendo Power, because that's where I remember this game from. It's one of those, "Was that a real thing?" moments.

This game came with a contest to write the premise for the sequel in 500 words or less. I won a Texas Instruments computer for my submission.

The trick was to find the verbs and the nouns (usually the first three letters of each) and to know what was a red herring or worthless. "You see flotsam and jetsam." What do I do with that? Ignore it. When they made one with a graphical interface and a button for every verb, you could just go through all the combinations almost without thinking. So it was less about solving the puzzles. Time limits meaning limited number of turns could be particularly nasty.

Played as a kid, the potions really help, but never knew how to get unlimited. Always got stuck in one of the elemental worlds, where you need a jumping potion. But it was fun, although pretty tough and frustrating at times. Would have liked a save point or something.

I was given this game as a gift when I was 9 and I HATED IT SO MUCH. Boring as all hell My mom took me back to the store and I exchanged it for Metroid and absolutely adored that game, it brought a lot of the neighborhood kids over to check it out and even my older brothers 13 and 18 were enthralled by it Very hard game but I beat it Metroid was a much better choice than this dud

I love pitfall because you can actually play the game for a long time and you weren't rushed or have to constantly move forward or you would die- for example in jungle on it was too stressful you had to keep jumping and moving forward and swinging and pitfall allowed you to explore as I can open world game and it's just so fun to play- I remember as a kid at Chuck e cheese there was an arcade game called bagman that wasn't open game you could just walk around and explore and you weren't rushed and your token lasted forever- I'd love to see a pitfall game be made modern with the new PlayStation 5- thanks for the video so much appreciated

This was definitely an eye catcher back then. The ability to pick up random objects in the background was pretty cool. Its just funny these dudes picking up cars and large post it still takes multiple punches and kicks to dispatch enemies.

castlevania msx2 is also in DOS (i actually finished it on DOS and later on i knew it was an msx version) about haunted castle... this IS a castlevania game and not a clon :p (the problem came with the translation, but the japanese version shares the name of the games on consoles) Oretachi Geesen Zoku: Akumajou Dracula, and i DID finished the game on arcades :p this game has an EXCELENT remake that was released this year :) (its part of a collection, seriously good game)

OMG, I'm the total opposite of you. I hate the text parser interface. If it wasn't for the existence of the point-and-click then I would've never become a Space Quest fan. Nowadays, Space Quest 3 remains the only game from the series which I have yet to enjoy because it is still the only game in the series which doesn't have a point-and-click remake released yet.

I actually bought this controller specifically for Zengief on Street Fighter 2. My friends laughed but his circle moves were easier to pull off and I got a ton of wins. So yes for me it was worth pulling out my friends Dpad and putting in the joystick and then change the messy settings they had back to my stick settings. An on this went every other turn we played. Totally worth it for me. I must have played other games with it but Zengief got the most use lol. Now fight sticks are popular so I feel vindicated .

This game is a mix between Beetlejuice, Ghost Busters, and Little Monsters. I think Howie Mandel's 'Little Monsters' had a huge influence on this game, but because Little Monsters is such an obscure film nowadays, most people might not even know about it.

As a Christian man who has grown up in the church since the day of my birth in 1979. I just noticed the tune playing in the background of Superman is from the hymn, "Stand up, Stand up for Jesus." With some research I know that the melody has existed since before they hymn was created, but for me it is always tied to that 1858 hymn. So the whole time I have watched the video that hymn is playing on repeat in my head. Too Cool!
