Thanks. Worked a charm. Did have to go buy a different T8 piece to fit near trigger. But once I had that, I was able to do everything. Nice clear instructions

In your video you do not tell that impeller 's screw is reverse thread. It's a very important part you left out in a video. We broke the screw, had to drill it and it cost $20 to replace it.

Thanks for the video. Managed to swap the trigger over and buy the torx screwdriver all for £7.28. A bit fiddly, but certainly worth the time.

Thank you very much for making this video. It's clearly a manufacturer fault if it's happening to so many people and to vacuums that are only used on occasion. 1:20 The white plastic housing was very tight on my V11 and required a lot of force to pry open. Afterwards I saw that there two tabs that hold it together, inserting a flathead screwdriver here should make it easier to open. 2:00 and 2:55 I found that the two wires with flat ends needed a LOT of prying and persuasion to flatten out in order to come out and then also to rehouse it.

Under my white plastic, the circuit board is covered in a soft transparent glue, similar to that from a hot glue gun. Any idea as to why? Possible refurb? I did purchase it online, brand new from best buy. The screws did have the appearance as if someone did slightly strip them. LUCKILY, even though I couldn't pop out the trigger assembly, just some fidgeting with it and the spring has the trigger working like new again.

Why can't a brand like dyson fix this properly in original manufacturing?

My Dyson v10 has glue/soft plastic all over the circut board, what do I do about that 😅

Great instructions! Used them twice now since the first was a glue job. Not making that mistake again. Got the improved replacement part with reinforced plastic in the weak area for this time around.

You do not need to bend the connectors. If you turn them sideways they will fit down through the plastic channel.

went to the hardware store to get a T8 screwdriver, and everything went well until I got to the circuit board. The 2 screws that connect the battery to the circuit board won't budge at all. It's so bad that I've started to damage the screw hole and the driver head, making it even harder to get them out. I've tried using a latex glove to get more grip and tried using pliers but it's completely stuck...

Those Philip screws are so tight! Not enough stiffness in my eyeglasses repair driver to twister loose (battery) and too short for the round part.

I love the idea of repurposing items, and you made it look nice to boot. Also entertained by a couple brackets you "found" like you were scavenging in Fallout. Simple, effective, and (nearly) free. If it's free.... It's for me😂

The "Water Tube" TWISTS off, don't just yank on it. I broke the tabs that hold the arm to the base by just yanking and now the top rack cleans like shit became se there's no pressure.

Shit that’s the problem I’m finding. The little tabs that hold it in place are gone. Replacement part is almost $150.

What a piece o sht vacuum cleaner. Costs an arm and leg and the trigger just dies? I have used so many handheld ones with fraction the cost and never did I witness the trigger died even after abuse. And changing it is like you have to the whole frigging thing apart to change. After my 6th device I think I am done with Dysons. They force to overuse the trigger making it unlockable to save battery and put some cheap plastic which will break rather that over engineering it. To me it seems intentional.

Unbelievable design stupidity. I'm sure that countless £450 machines have been binned due to a failing 5p, poorly specified bit of plastic buried in a deliberately inaccessible location.

The entire circuit board was covered in silicon glue. Jerks made it nearly impossible to remove trigger assembly
@Masashimi3 ай бұрын
Just to save some grief at 2:30 the screw in at the bottom of the trigger housing is NOT the same size as the other torx screws. It is almost double or triple the length. I thought I had stripped the screw because it was taking so long to come out that I ended up breaking the screw housing when I pulled out the trigger assembly. Hopefully the trigger assembly will still sit in the housing when i glue the broken trigger...

Thanks for the great video - your repair video was exactly what I needed! BTW, I had to use baking soda along with Krazy glue to get proper bonding. My trigger had stress fracture in two locations. Obviously poorly engineered by Dyson.

A very good instructional video. I’ve never done anything like this before. First time it wouldn’t work so took it apart again and found the little white connector on the printed circuit board had come away. After much head scratching I realised I wasn’t putting it back in the correct way. Managed to get it properly connected and then it worked. Didn’t glue the switch but bought a new one. The switch takes a lot of punishment so it should be a more robust design - that’s a pity as the vacuum works very well.

Best fix is not to buy Samsung. I’ve used old dishwashers and everything with no problem even with age. Bought new Samsung appliances and they are all garbage! I’ve had to replace a drain pump for the washing machine. Power cord for dryer, and this for the dishwasher. We take VERY good care of our stuff too. It’s so cheap and flimsy as well.

vow.. I hate Dyson for doing this, the part should have been some sort of steel. Love you work, great info.. Now, I am honestly scared to try, but I would rather try and break it and throw the V10 away, before going to service centre to pay $200 on a $18 part.

Brilliant video. There are some good comments too, but in general this video saved me a lot of time. Thank you. I assume Dyson know their plastics fail after 4 years. They're too smart not to know. Down right predatory behaviour. Shame.
