😂 28:59 Sure enough wasn’t a friend or loving mother to saddle him with a name like“Rusty, Dick”. Poor guys never gonna get em a lady on account she’d be worried about catching tetanus, or something else unhealthy. Whatever it is, I don’t think anybody wants a Rusty Dick.

Alex Jame is one of the worst. I wish he had a day job. So tiresome wading through all his bullshit. Really dude, give someone else who's good a chance. BORING!!!

Where is this story going?? The story is like a maze going different directions. The narrator needs more voice inflection like is learnt on a Toastmasters organization.

After Googling this lady author, it states she lived from 1836-1910 (aged 73-74). This was an interesting tale of trekking across the western half our our continent. It does prove that if you treat someone with respect,it will be returned. My point l'm making is, not all lndians were out for blood. Yes, the emigrants were technically trespassing and paying off with food or tobacco, trinkets would satisfy them. This lady outlived her husband by about 20 years, their son died at about from 15-20.

In 1848 my G-G-Grandmother traveled from Ohio to Indiana, 500mi approx, by covered wagon with 13 children. Her husband died the next year. She became a well known midwife and her birthing records are kept at the U of OH.

A compelling narrative, nicely read by Sue Anderson, after finishing WAGONS WEST by McLynn. If only more Americans knew of the ""trials"" our pioneer forebearers undertook to open-up this vast & spectacular continent of ours.....
