No medication has worked. I tried the antibiotic and am doing the ivermectin cream now. Nothing works, and i still get the bright red flush almost every day. Air-conditioning, heat, are some of my triggers. My face burns when it flushes. The redness can be worse on one side, but both cheeks are red. It only began several years ago in my mid 60's.

Hi doc, I'm a 25 year old female, I have been suffering with ACNE only on my cheeks for the past 9 years. I was on 10mg for first 7 days then 20mg for 2.5 months now. I'm not experiencing side effects like dry lips, skin.. simply dry eyes. And physically I'm guessing my extra sensitive joint and muscle pain are because of this, I'm not sure though because I changed cities and my sleeping and food habits have not been the best and also started exercising last few weeks. I had to quit because the pain just got too much and it felt more like punishment rather than pushing. But the main thing is my acne is just not getting better, I still get consistent breakouts so I hate that but I also hate feeling this way and maybe this is causing damage to my body so doc I would like you to kindly advise me in ways you possibly can. Should I ask my dermatologist to higher up my dose so that I can get better results? or should I consider quitting since the damage can be permanent? I want to get better without compromising the longterm health.

I was wondering if you could provide any insight into topical tretinoin strength. I was able to achieve great improvement in my acne by week 8 of treatment with 0.025%. My scars and pigmentation faded by month 6. Unfortunately, I was advised to move up to 0.05%. Within a month, I suffered severe breakouts. Worse than I had ever had. I subsequently moved back down, and it has taken 6 weeks for my skin to return to its normal state. Although now I have lots of pigmented scars from the failed 0.05% transition. This experience had led me to ponder the role of irritation in acne formation. Clearly for me the 0.025% was sufficient to resolve my acne, and in extension any dose higher led me to breakout from irritation. -pre med student.

Can you kindly make a video on this question - I want to understand if Benzoyl Peroxide is effective primarily as post acne treatment or helps in acne prevention as well. Are azelaic acid/tretionin/BHA ( which increases cell turover) better for prophylaxis than benzoyl Peroxide. How dose these topicals compare to each other in terms of efficacy in prevention of acne ( rather than treatment)

What about using Vitamin C or alpha arbutin for discolouration of acne marks? I am on accutane for a month now and my skin has cleared up. I am left with acne marks only and I wanted to know if using ingredients like Vitamin C, alpha arbutin and Niacinamide is ok if they are not in too much high concentrations.
