Jerry died from coronary disease aggravate by heavy cigarette smoking 'in his early years'. As an x-smoker I know how extremely hard it is ti quit smoking. I am 74 years old and I only know two people who have successfully quit .. and one of them is me (34 years ago). It's worse than opioids because it doesn't just get you high, it gives you cancer. What a terrible curse!!!!!! My mother died from the same thing as Jerry Reed. We think that if we quit we'll be safe. For many that's just not true. It's tragic beyond words.

The different stray chords, if I’m saying it correctly, makes Thoms music stand apart. Not a dissonant, but slightly up or down abit

Hank Thompson was a class act and my idol, Hansford Smith Phyllis and myself were some of the last people to see Hank alive, as we went to visit Hank on his death bed in Keller Texas at he and Ann's home. I ask Hank if he wanted me to write a song about him or if there was anything he wanted me to do for him, his reply was " I can't think of anything" we visited for a while, spoke to Ann she said Hank was the best patient he never complained about anything. I drove Hansford and Phyllis back to Lampasas and came home to Austin. I was home about 45 minutes when Ann called and said Hank was gone. We went to a party for Hanks life at Billy Bob's in Ft Worth, there were several stars there Noel Haggard, Mel Tellis, Justin Trevino just to name a few. Hank will never be forgotten he is a very big legend and has some very big shoes to fill. Coutry singers will never put the feeling into the songs like hank. Hank gave me an autographed picture of the 3 Hanks 'Hank Williams, Hank Snow and Hank Thompson' they look to be in their late 20s I will cherish it forever. Buddy Funderburgh Hank Fan...

Thom would do that kind of stuff up in his room growing up in the early 60's, parodies of commercials and other songs, always a lot of fun 😊😅❤

My doctor sent me for a CT scan in March. Two small nodules, 4mm and 7mm. 14 years, 8 months since my last cigarette. I may have stage 1 lung cancer, another CT scan this month may tell. My doctor might well have saved my life. But yet I still love cigarettes, think about ‘em, dream about ‘em.

Jerry Reed was a drunk in 1995 at a casino in Iowa and got thrown out from grabbing the cocktail waiters..he was such a jerk he didnt even give autographs to the customers who paid to see his show in the showroom..I was the Maintenance Manager at the time....Tom T Hall was very nice entertainer...I worked on Eddie Rabbits bus to get it started and never even got a thank you at all...We had many nice and nasty entertainers

I never got over cigarettes until I dealt with it as an addiction. Never missed that miserable habit ever once; sometimes when money is short, I’ll stop by the cigarette stand and see how much they cost. Saw a guy put a $10 bill down walk away with no change for one pack…
