My heart goes out to them. I have family members and friends that knew him, played guitar with him they are crushed. He played my kind of music as well and I missed that. I'm a first responder as well. I've been doing this close to 40 years. I've seen my share of Evan Twittys. People that we don't know, but we step up to do our best. And sometimes our best is not good enough. Sometimes, it's just their time. But we give them our best ... always. Evan Twitty had a short run on this earth. I wish I could've met him. Heck, I didn't know who he was until last week. But he made his mark. I know that he'd appreciate your effort. We all do. Hang in there. It'll get better.

Joey Garza, you sound so proud of your grandson and I would be too if he was mine. I don’t know if your grandson is in college/university or another form of post secondary education. If he is, his band may be helping him pay some of his expenses. It may also be true if he is finished his education either permanently or for now. Either way to him it is not a “little” band, but, a source of income & also independence.

Thank you, Mr. Hume for your comment. Yes, I am a very proud "grandfather" and so is the rest of the family. HIs older sister Breanna, was 24 years old when she passed away in 2016 he tells me that she often appears to him in his dreams and that she keeps encouraging him to continue with his music. He did a concert in her Memory here in Bakersfield, Ca. in 2017...... and I am proud to say it was a big success. We all know that she was looking down from heaven and saying "thanks, little brother.. I love you and I am also proud of you". I miss her everyday she too like Evan is a shining star in Heaven, again thank you Mr. Hume for your comment. May God Bless you and your family.... Oh, I forgot to mention that my grandson Jarrett did graduate from High School and is working part-time. And his band does share in the expenses when traveling on the road.

I've been a rock guitarist all my life. I've played some jazz, definitely some blues, but country rock more than this. Seeing you opened up a new world to me. I actually got a chance to see you Thom in Drakesboro Kentucky at what I believe was just the day they celebrated what would have been his dad's 100th birthday. July 4th 2017 at the Merle Travis Music Center. Thom, my mother in law didn't even mention it to you that she is Louise Rager. Mose Ragers, I believe 2nd cousin. She took a picture with you and you had made a joke about turning 70 soon. You mentioned that your buddies said you could get by with "accidently of course" pinching a pretty girl on the backside and blaming it on your mind. Mom didn't say a word about Moses relationship to Merle. She just said regarding the age, "I hate to tell you it only gets worse." That's mom. She's 84. Lives off of Merle Travis Hwy. Which heading towards Greenville runs into Mose Rager Blvd. He is at the Four Legends Fountain along with your dad, Merle and some of their kin is in that same graveyard. Thanksgiving weekend of 2019 I believe it was, I was heading down to see mom when I found out you were playing in Downers Grove Illinois. Maybe 25 minutes from my house. Love this and had a buddy send me some music and I'm going to try and give this style a crack. He sent me "The Claw" to start with! Lord Bless Evan. I sent this to my country buddy who owns Hidden Music in Palos Hills Illinois. John Maniatis. Thanks Thom for posting this and I'm glad it came up in my feed.

Not sure why this was "recommended" to me, but it was an honor to learn about Evan. I lost my dad not long ago to an accident. My dad was a songwriter in Nashville, with a passion for music. He wrote thirteen #1 country songs during his career, including "Song of The Year". He taught guitar early in his life and dearly loved his 50's era Martin, which I'm looking at now. But, as much as I miss my best friend, his music lives on. Watching Evan reminded me of so much and made me smile. Thank you for sharing this and God bless Evan, his family and good friends like you. Because of you, he lives on and it was an honor to "meet" him.

Here I sit, having just watched Bresh Celebratlion-of-life for Evan Twitty. now I have a tear in my eye, and Smile on my face. Thank you to Jamie Twitty and Rick for sharing Evan with us. My joy watching Evan make music was tempered with knowledge of the end, but his comment of knowing Jesus himelf, anf Bresh knowing Jesus was great to hear! Thanks to you both for a wonderful son. What wonderful tribute to an amazingly talented young man. I enjoyed watching Evan grow up and rapidly advance musically on your videos Thom. He was such a good and kind soul and will forever be missed. I know he would be pleased with this heartfelt video put together by his guitar hero and dear friend. RIP Evan.

18 yrs old and played like he had 40+ yrs under his belt!! Man talk about a huge tragic loss!! This young man had sooo much potential that was lost on Feb 7th, 2020!!! I sure hope that in his legacy that he sure influences young folk to follow their passions no matter if it is "out of the norm" for their age group or no!! This young man sure had an "Old Soul"!!! No doubt he has a guitar in heaven and is playing music for all the angels in their "down time"!!! What a great loss to the old style country music industry!!! My condolences to the Twitty Family, friends and music community in their loss of such a talented young man!! 18 yrs old is way too young to bury their baby, their friend, and someone who had sooo much potential to keep this old style of country music alive long after us "old folk" are dead and gone! Can't wait to attend one of his "heavenly concerts", when I reach those pearly gates!!!

When there is such a tragedy, this (IMHO) is the way to celebrate. Fine job sir! Wish I had known more of him. Peace.

I've never heard of him, what an awesome talent from such a humble person, we are all culturally poorer from this loss. Thank you for making this video. My condolences to you, and his family.

I met Evan in 2013 at the Indiana State Fingerstyle Guitar contest and we talked and played before going onstage and I was very impressed by his enthusiasm and outgoing personality. I always remembered him over the intervening years and wondered what he was up to. The next time I heard him play was at a Blues Society event weeks before his passing. RIP. Thanks to Mr. Bresh for this great, and well deserved, tribute!
