WARNING, I paid 2,600. and had the Tapp clutch installed on my X3 with the Evo desert storm kit at Glamis by Evo and have blown 10 belts in 200 miles. I had to pay 650. to have upgrades done with 100 miles on it and had Angel an EVO employee who owns an identical car try to tune it. I am now having to pay KWI, A trusted company that actually cares about its customers help diagnose why this is happening. I know how to break in a belt and can't get into boost because the belt slips and blows almost instantly. Angel told me after testing that he needed longer bolts to add more weight so now I have had 2 trips to Glamis (an 11 hour drive ) ruined because of their apathy and incompetence, I have numerous other problems with Evo and have over 20k of their parts but you get the point. This post will probably be deleted but I feel I had to warn others to stay away from these companies. Reply

I bought my Tapp from KWI. They sent it "set up for my power" which had way to much weight in it. It was set up for a 300hp car and I'm only at 205. The lady that answers the calls isn't the nicest lady to deal with. Kevin seems like a nice dude once I was able to finally speak with him. I ended up tuning and dialing it in myself. Extremely easy, I couldn't imagine paying someone one to tune a clutch that was built with such simplicity. Give it a go man. I can send you a picture of my weight set up if you want. I believe I saw this same rant on one of the fb pages, yesterday maybe? I commented, shoot me a pm and I'll send my tapp set up 👍

It's a great design with good grip. It can be tuned very easily and is low maintenance besides cleaning. Also as shown, in the case of a rebuild it is pretty simple to do once you get it apart.

Yo R25, so whats your review on the TAPP? Any way to tell if your running cooler belt temps? Any increased reliability? Thanks for the video. Have a pleasant day. Cheers
@razr25
@razr25 7 ай бұрын
I don't currently have a temp gauge installed but I haven't broken a belt with the Tapp. I change belts every dune trip which is only 2-3 times a year but multiple hard riding trail trips in between. I personally went to a Tapp because of the common issue of the stock p90 exploding on the '20 and '21 pro xp and sometimes snapping the nose of the crank off, so a billet clutch was cheap insurance imo. The ease of tuning the Tapp is next level and can be done in minutes while dialing in for your setup.

Can you make a video of how to add weight and how to tune it ?
@razr25

Thier directions online are pretty straight forward with the weights. It's been a year or so since I tuned mine but I think i set it at 87-8900rpm @50mph.

Also, my pro xp is on stage 3 tune and 32's. All my clickers are on 6. Shortest bolts on all the rollers with no washer weight. On the arms I have 4 allen's paralleled on 2, and 2 allens on the other arms. You can screen shot my weight setup on the part 2 video at 3:28 to get you close.

@@razr25 Jesus! sounds like its got everything! I have 2 X2´s one normal with a kawasaki engine, but the other I want to put a 701 that i have but i have to find a pipe.. I live in Costa Rica and this 701 culture does not exist here so trying to get a used pipe is nearly imposssible so I am stuck. I have the kasaski engine for it but not carburator.. i like yamaha better so I would like to try and fo for the conversion.. also the kawasaki pump has the rust problem that the liner gets deformed and doesnnt let the impeller turn.. I have another yamaha complete pump so I saw a couple guys ponline that change to a yamaha pump also on a X2! that woul be cool but more work obviously.. basically I have a extra complete yamaha waverunner W3 to put into the X2. so thats the plan.. but my problem is the pipe...

It has 4 wheel disc brakes. Once you lose the rear in random asphalt gravel going that fast the brakes don't help you recover.
@evanmitcheltree

That's why they invented four wheel disc brakes so you couldn't spin out like that, especially on a shifter kart

125MPH = 201.168 KM per hour. I downloaded a GPS app on my iPhone and strap my iPhone to my steering wheel, it has a large digital readout. I've checked it against my truck speedometer and it's accurate. at 125 MPH it was still accelerating.. It has a very small sprocket on the axel, that makes for a slow take off, but the top end is too much. Way too fast.
@george8831

how do you measure the speed????125mph are 200++kmh.is this speed real,i mean that if you run a car with 200+kmh the shifter kart will run faster???sorry about my bad english!!!
