Appreciate the review of so many brands! I'm a little disappointed with neopastels. Maybe I prefer softer OP. Wish I could get my hands on Hwawon OP. They look good!

In fact, they are all very different. and it is desirable to have everything for various techniques. Personally, I don’t really use very soft ones. I prefer the hardness level of Van Gogh - Mungyo, sometimes I don’t want to smudge, but I want to paint. !☝️

Soft Pastels are composed of pigment, water and a smaller amount of chalk or artificial binder. However, oil pastels are oil based.

If you want to express more details, you can use colored pencils. When it comes to using fixative, it would be better to apply light coats after the drying stage. Thank you!
