Hi mate my bottled beer is getting small black dots appearing sticking to the inside of the bottle .they become detatched and mix through the beer when disturbed .any idea what may be causing this .only been last 2 brews

What does fermenting under pressure do to the esters overall? I heard it reduces esters but I thought it would stress the yeast more to pressure more esters and phenols.

I seem to have the opposite problem i follow instructions and when i test the abv% i get 20 to 28. I check a can of store bought beer and get the 5% they claim with my tester so i know it works correctly. Not sure how to fix this issue

Hey so i fermented my beer for two weeks and is been conditioning for two weeks now but i put one in fridge and day later tried it and is a little cidery and not enough head on beer is this normal or does it need more time?

It took you forever to get to the infections part although there was a number saved. Very unprofessional you were reading from the script the whole way with your eyes down. Wasn’t very engaging.

I'd say that, when using plastic bottles, don't reuse caps. I've found a few leaked on 2nd or 3rd use. However, adding yeast and a little extra sugar, then sealing with a new cap should do the trick.

Just be aware that these fermenters are not especially well made. They sell for $21 on the website and you get what you pay for. I bought two Mr. Beer complete beer making kits because I wanted to have two batches of different recipes going at the same time. Brew day for me was Sunday and I got started by leak testing the fermenters. One was ok and the other one leaked out of the bottom. Very disappointed. So I was only able to start one of the two batches I had planned. I was even more disappointed when I reached out to Mr. Beer customer service and got no reply. Nothing but crickets chirping...total silence. So $21 down the drain. Hopefully the refills and recipe kits are better than the fermenters. Since Mr. Beer customer service left me high and dry I looked for alternatives and found BrewDemon. I ordered one of their kits with a fermenter. The fermenter sells for $48 so it is a little more than twice the price of the Mr. Beer fermenter. But in my opinion the additional cost is justified. It is made from much thicker plastic that is firm but not hard, so it a bit more pliable than the Mr. Beer fermenter and I think it will stand up fine to repeated use.

I noticed a lot of the reviews on the mrbeer website (for the can and refill kit) state this comes out as dark as an amber. Does it have dark malts in it? E.g. Crystal, or are these brewers maybe getting bottle oxidation?

Definitely make sure you leak test your fermenter. I bought two of them and one of them leaked like crazy due to a bad molding seam along the bottom.

When you say you dry hop on day 7 and have a 14 day fermentation, do you go straight to bottle once you hit the FG? And if I do that should I let my American IPA sit in the bottles for alittle longer?

I’m a beginner (just made my first batch last week) and this was a little too confusing for me. I think I'll watch some starter videos and come back to this because it seems like it has good tips, I just didn't understand all the technical lingo.

What a duh spokesperson/salesperson!! Can't even pronounce the word "centrifugal" properly and he's telling us the details. Go back to school. Try looking at the camera lens (your audience) instead of your off camera monitor or teleprompter! You make a lot of rookie mistakes for someone who's supposed to be the company spokesperson.
