Ailerons setup as low as possible and elevator trimmed slighly upward is set when the stick at center position, isn't it?
@2fly4awifi873 жыл бұрын
Yes, center position on the stick should should include elevator slightly up and ailerons slightly down for more lift, like flaps, but not as low as possible. Why not? Because when you move the stick to the left and right you still want the ailerons to move both up and down to provide the maximum left and right steering control. If aileron is already all the way down it can not travel further down so the plane would have to rely on the other aileron only. You want both ailerons to roll the airplane left and right. Once the wings have rolled left or right, using up elevator will complete the turn. We call that “bank and yank.” Bank left or right, and yank up elevator to turn. That’s how the airplane turns without a rudder. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I’ve found that setting the ailerons a little bit downward provides slightly more lift at slower speeds, similar to flaps. Some refer to these as flaperons (flaps/ailerons combined). It’s achieved mechanically by moving the servo horn one tooth forward on the servo cog.

I got a question brother. The foam that's used for that Jet. Do you know if it's EPP foam. Will it tear like Dollar Tree foam board. Also will tape stick to it for reinforcement. I want to build that Jet, but I won't if the foam isn't durable.
@2fly4awifi873 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what type of foam it is, but it’s much more durable than dollar tree foam. Unlike dollar tree foam, there is no paper coating on this, rather it’s a more rigid material all the way through that’d be difficult to tear with bare hands. Tape does not stick well to this foam. Hot glue is the best adhesive for it, but use it sparingly to minimize the overall flying weight.

quick question are you using a "pusher" 6x4 propeller?
@2fly4awifi874 жыл бұрын
I have several of these planes and use both pusher props and standard props. The important thing is to make sure that the printed numbers on the propeller are facing forward. Connect the three wires from the motor to the speed controller and apply throttle to see which way the propeller spins and see if the plane moves forward. If it does not, just swap two of the three wires and the prop will rotate the other direction, clockwise or counterclockwise.

hi there love the plane could you please specify about the motor and prop is it cw or ccw as this is doing my head in about the clockwise and counter clockwise

Hi, by switching any two of the three wires extending from the electronic speed controller (ESC) to the motor will reverse the motor rotation from clockwise and counter clockwise. So it’s okay to buy either rotation prop and switch the wires accordingly during assembly.

Can you try using 2s 2800mah and 2450kv motor? Maybe that can flew longer!
@2fly4awifi875 жыл бұрын
You can, but even a 2S 2700 zippy battery has half the voltage of the 4S 1000 and weighs 33% more (160g vs 120g) so you’ll probably need more throttle to keep it flying, which would in turn deplete the battery faster and decrease your flight time. Generally more power is also more fun. I can get 3-4 minute flights going fast with the 4S 1000 or 6-7 minute flights with easy throttle management. Lighter more powerful planes are also easier to maneuver if you get in trouble, but you can try both and see which you prefer. I prefer this performance and take five charged batteries so I can fly longer. IMHO this setup rocks.
