I'd love to get a pair for my FK8. I do a lot of crusing at 100mph. Would this worsen my gas mileage at that speed? I have your diffuser but haven't gotten the time to install it yet. The diffuser should yield me better gas mileage. However, it might shift the balance backward a bit, so that's why I am looking at the canards right now. Why not just get a front splitter? Well, my country has a lot of these sharp ramp-like road in the city center. I don't want to destroy my splitter or even damage it outside track. I want to get the UCW too but I don't think the front axle would generate enough df with vented hood and canards without big drag penalty to balance the car.

@@VerusEngineering I have a Brz, I love a lot of what you guys make, I have most of what you make on my car. I do everything myself, looking at the amount of effort it would take me to do this in my driveway probably 6+ hours of work, or have to pay someone upwards of $1,000 + for a mod that doesn’t add any power whatsoever, or seconds to lap times, and just adds “feeling” to the driving experience, seems crazy. I’ll probably get them eventually, and struggle them in. But is it really worth it? Looked difficult with a lift. They need to come with better stuff out of the factory.
@VerusEngineering5 күн бұрын
To you, it may not be worth it, but the hundreds of people that are running these mounts already, would probably agree that they are worth it. We wouldn't advise installing the motor mounts on the ground anyway. A lift is almost necessary for this install. These mounts help limit movement of the engine, which means that during hard decel and accel events, the motor is rocking back and forth instead of transmitting power to the ground. These units limit that movement and help with power delivery. These units are great for track day or drag race owners that are looking for a more solidly mounted engine for better power delivery, but it sounds like this product is not for you.

Have you thought about adding a gurney flap to the trailing edge? And maybe countersinking the end plate bolts/hardware, but might be tough considering it’s thickness.

Does it matter if you vent the endplates on the pressure side, upwards(as in your design) or downwards?
@VerusEngineering9 күн бұрын
Honestly, we have never tested the vents pointing downwards. Intuition tells us upwards is the best way and this is based on previous knowledge of our V1X endplates and other applications.

@@VerusEngineering Fair enough. From your CFD it looks like it keeps the vortex on the suction side outboard. This would give you more wing surface area, and corresponding increase in CoL.

Since the AOS is connected directly to the CCV and the intake port is plugged, how does the system drain oil during high boost without causing issues with airflow? Is there any risk of the oil backing up when the CCV is venting?

It is going to drain back into the block. We've never heard or seen any issues with draining oil under boost and no reason to worry about the oil backing up. This has never happened with our AOS or drain kit.
