Very informative. I'm not a small engine mechanic so I'm struggling getting my fs45 working again. Thank you for all the info. The only thing you could add is tuning high and low fuel screws but there are lots of other videos covering that. My stock fs45 (sold in canada) does not have an adjustable high fuel range so I bought an aftermarket carburetor that has an H screw. Being able to tune H and L for temperature and altitude is very important. Cheers and thank you

Thanks for watching my videos. Yes, I will cover carburetor tuning in the future. This will not be a voice over due to the noise of the engine when revving. Thanks to all my subscribers in 🇨🇦.

I clicked on your video to learn something. Instead, your undisciplined boy left me very agitated. If you’re going to do an instructional video, don’t let a child pitch tantrums while trying to create the video. Either don’t let him near while you are recording, or apply some discipline so that he learns how to behave.

Great video. I still have a problem that my primer bulb never showing fuel entering it and the return line to gas tank never provides any fuel coming out of it. Continually pressing the primer bulb eventually leaks fuel somewhere in the front of the trimmer housing and nowhere by the carburetor or the fuel lines. Very confusing. The primer bulb line s delivering plenty of fuel to the inlet but never to the return line and the motor never starts. Does this indicate an internal blockage somewhere still within the carburetor ?
@Varietech-AU
@Varietech-AU Ай бұрын
Could be internal blockage on the needle valve, incorrect placement of fuel pump diaphragm or fuel line connection. See fuel line connection at 28:00.
@richh6005
@richh6005 Ай бұрын
@@Varietech-AU Thank you and I will verify all the above. Mystery is while continually pressing the primer bulb that never fills with fuel, starts a leak somewhere far in front of the wacker housing (motor area), nowhere near the carb. I even tried this with carb detached from intake gasket area to make sure nothing from the carb was leaking into intake chamber and it still leaks somewhere you cannot see, likely from the tank somewhere you cannot see. It drips from the motor housing bottom. Also, does needle valve top hook onto rocker or does rocker just sit on top of needle valve.

@@richh6005 possibly have cracked fuel tank or perished fuel grommets.
@richh6005
@richh6005 Ай бұрын
@@Varietech-AU Thank you. I will have to further disassemble to reveal entire fuel tank, since I cannot assume there is any reason or other area of fuel tank to have any type of intended opening or connectors, leading to what we both feel could be a crack. Not sure why any grommets would even be located in that tank area, since all hose connections are all in the carb area and not leaking as previously stated.
@richh6005
@richh6005 29 күн бұрын
@@Varietech-AU I have thoroughly cleaned all valve orifices per your video and also ensured fuel pump diaphragm is properly in place. Still nothing ever comes through the return to fuel tank connection even under constant bulb pressing pressure. Is there something else and where in the carb that your excellent removals and cleanings does not address where a possible blockage remains, preventing fuel from returning to tank. Also removed that hose to ensure that return connector was what is blocked and not the hose and when disassembled, that return connector orifice is totally cleaned out when sprayed so it is clear.

For a change, to fix a small engine outside of Australia. Fixed the last minutes before we left my hometown. Fuel stabiliser might not be available or not affordable. I'm not sure if it's necessary in tropical region. One thing I didn't have a chance to adjust the throttle for correct voltage and frequency of 220V 60Hz.

Thanks. It's a great holiday but still I did small engine repair overseas which I'm going to upload next. I brought with me all the different carburetor gasket and diaphragm kit for Trimmers and Brushcutters just in case someone ask me to repair their unit for free. It's a mix of holiday and repairs. I spend half of my holiday is setting up my brother's 10 units Internet Cafe, upgrading SSD and RAM and installing games and repairing his gasoline/petrol generator in Leyte. When I was in Davao, I spend time to fix my brother-in-law's 500W audio amplifier. I'm now in Sydney. Yesterday I did repair on Victa Tilt-A-Cut with Mike from Narrabeen and will be uploaded next.

I cleaned the carburettor,tip the old fuel out replace with clean fuel and because it’s 2 stroke messed with the high and idle screw but it’s still bogging down when I pull the trigger,maybe I didn’t put the fuel filter set in the middle on the bottom of the tank or the intake hose is to long.
