He was messed up on drugs and passed out on the highway. He got a dui, possession of drugs and reckless driving. He had been fighting it for 2 years. At the courthouse holding cells he used to tell everybody he was going to make them his bitch and fuck em lol The dude was crazy unless you asked him about football

I'll never forget that Bears/Raiders game (mid-90's?) where Spellman and Steve Wisniewski and the rest of the Raider offensive line just went at him; holding, facemasking, elbowing, taunting, and chopping Spellman until he was in a flat out rage on the field. There must've been a brawl every other play. Great game!

I went to high school with Alonzo. He attended Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mt Holly, NJ from 1995 to 89. He was a great football and basketball hero for the Red Devils. I used to work out in the school gym and also watch him lift massive weights. I was proud of him when he attended Ohio State and when the Bears drafted him on 1992. I wish him all the best. God is with him and will help him.

I think I have to face the facts that the most common thing I've heard in my recent life is an explanation of the rules of Roller Derby.
@hazelwood558 жыл бұрын
Spellman had one of the most amazing plays on MNF one time. He got cut at the line of scrimmage and went to the ground. The play flowed away from him, he got up, ran about 50 yds, spiked the ball free, recovered the fumble, and returned it about 50 yds. I went to OSU at the same time he did, so sad what happened to him.
@richardrobinson74268 жыл бұрын
my dad was telling me when they went to osu and they would train together that they used to smash the Same hoes I was like I don't need to know that and the part the was awkward is that he said it so calm like it was normal

Richard Robinson you don't need to know it and yet you feel the need to share it with millions of strangers.Its bad when your dad's only claim to fame is now yours.

wrapping your arms around someone to take them down? "driving someone's head into the floor"? FIGHTING ON THE TRACK? This is not the Derby i know. The confidence, the comraderie, the support, athleticism, those are all Derby....but not the strange violence. Derby, WFTDA derby, is an athletic, full contact sport. Hitting does happen, but not fighting, tackling, or other actions that are just about injuring someone.
@chloesittig78710 жыл бұрын
AMEN! fighting, grabbing, and head shots are not legal. WFTDA. look the rules up girls.
@jennyhansen639210 жыл бұрын
95% of derby games are played under the WFTDA rule set, and most banked track leagues also don't allow tackling. I think all the things that horrified me about this post -- the fighting, head hitting, tackling are either done by the renegade leagues or by idoits who want to get in a fight while wearing 8 weels. and if you want to fight in 8 wheels, that's fine. i just wish you weren't assoicated with the word "Derby." make yourself an 8 wheel fight club.
@realmofthemisunderstood1668 жыл бұрын
+Hollie Parks That doesn't mean that you are allowed to tackle someone and beat the shit out of them. Bank track or not, that is gross misconduct, and just because bank track is not WFTDA that doesn't mean the rules let you play like a barbarian.
@echoegamioh8 жыл бұрын
+jjhansen2 Correct, fighting is no longer allowed but this was back in the days when fighting was an acceptable part of the sport... we've come a long way since then.

Roller Girls today have some of the best sportswomanship (or sportsmanship in general) I've ever seen. It's not like the LFL where an entire game can be ruined by a league instigated brawl where they rip eachothers clothes off for guys to enjoy. Instead now its a place strong athletic women can be themselves, make friends of all kinds, and just be completely awesome.

He's living at a motel in the Westampton, NJ area and get's a $300 a day (yes, that number is correct) from a trustee. He is a drug abuser. Still has a solid, thickly muscled body but his face looks like he's 80 years old.

Exponential growth has created a severe shortage of officials, both skating and non-skating. If you don't want to be part of the hitting but want to get involved, be a zebra or an NSO (non-skating official)!

What if we were to attach some sort of pin to another marcher, then hook up an automated mover that would move according to Patrick's position relative to the other person. The first time could be done by the father, and then over and over again until the computer averaged out his errors and Patrick's movement could be fully automated.
