Okay, well I'm 5 years late to the party. However, I swear, focus peaking gives me sharper focus on my Z7ii than autofocus.

I can not see the image function of soft fosusing in the Zfc camera -so that I can process in NX studio ?. Is it only full frame cameras?

There is no battery info in z50 and z50ii ? In just 3 battery indicators how you gonna know ho much battery remaining, wtf Nikon just replace that 3 dots to percentage.

I just got a Z7, and I find that using the single focus point and matrix metering, the exposure isn't consistent. It seems to be biased to the focus point instead of metering the entire scene (ie, blown out sky). Is there a fix for this?

Wrong wrong. Not their on z8.

This used to be a VERY powerful feature till Nikon messed with it. Something not mentioned in this video is the fact that Z body Nikon cameras save the combined overlay as a jpeg and NOT as a NEF as in Nikon DSLR bodies. This is a huge issue to people that use this feature that want to update to a Z body. Camera jpegs are worthless to me and many others. Hopefully Nikon will fix this in future firmware updates to the Z bodies.

But where in the menu? All talk no showing. Wortless video am afraid.

Unfortunately, even on the new Z50II there I still no battery info menu item. I'm starting to wonder if this has to do with limitations of the EN-EL25(a) battery type.

Thanks for that. I was finding it an absolute nuisance looking at an image in the EVF when my subject had already moved away.Coming from DSLR's it was so frustrating and I had no idea how to fix it.

I tried PRC yesterday but the juddering viewfinder was very off putting. Is there a way around this?

I am using the focus ring to control the ISO which is very useful particularly in low light conditions.

What are the settings that prevent the camera (z50) from always focusing on the closest object? I can never remember all these settings!

Thanks a million !!! Changing aperture with the sub-dial was, to me, not intuitive at all, plus it forced me to move my finger from the shutter release button. But now, my camera works the way my brain needs it to.

Thanks! So there's no pre-release on/off button. You have to check/set the options and then select a fps of 30 or above. Not the smartest UX.

Thanks for sharing. I have 2 questions not shown on the Zf manual. Is the max electronic shutter speed 1/8000 of a second? It's clear that the mechanical shutter speed is 1/8000 of a second. However specs on some websites shows the max. electronic shutter speed is the same... Odd.... also, I haven't seen the pre-capture release 30, 60, and 120 FPS on Jpeg files anywhere. It's hard to believe it's true.

This is exactly what I needed. Z6ii, I had the u1u2u3 setup with different aperture manual and flash setups. This was great but obviously was struggling to see how you could do it with the z8. This appears to be the solution. Fantastic, thank you very much.

I find the 10L a bit big and cumbersome but i also have the 6L which is a bit too small for my needs. I’m thinking of about spending the extra cash for a Wotencraft 7L bag since it’s slightly bigger than the PD 6L and seems to expand a bit easier to take gear in and out of the bag. Any thoughts or recommendations are always appreciated.

It is invaluable for landscapes when you want to exposure bracket - you can set it up so that one press of the shutter starts (in my case) a 2 second delay and then takes all 3 exposures without having to touch the camera again.

Can't find this option on the Z6III. Not available on the Z6III?

I've always had an issue with people saying "it only effects jpegs" in regards to in-camera settings considering I set my photo editing software to show my raw files based on my camera settings.

I am using the AF button in AFC mode with 30 images/sec on JPEG HEIF in my z8. the AF Focus does show the pre release green dot when pressed. but I can’t figure out how/where to see the buffered images! I am having a strange behavior with my Z6iii that I was hoping you may insight into . I have my touch controls turned off on the lcd, but when I put the camera to my eye, when my nose touches the LCD the focus point moves. I can actually make it move all over with moving my nose on the back screen. I do not have this problem on my Z6ii. I thought that if I turned touch controls off, they would be off when I shot from the LCD AND through the viewfinder. Do you have any thoughts on this?? I have to believe it is a setting and not a defect, but I am not able to get it to stop. Thank you so much !!

I have the Z9 but never used the DX mode. I crop afterwards if I want a tighter view. Otherwise the sensor I paid for is not providing everything it can. You can’t go back and get the pixels that were not recorded. I have the option to crop or keep the entire capture.
