If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream-and not make dreams your master; If you can think-and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’ If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings-nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And-which is more-you’ll be a Man, my son!

Nice. I attempted Hillhead to Newport last October, but stopped at the Folly Inn instead. For anyone considering such a trip... Lovely crossing outbound (1hr 30); Medina's lovely; a pub lunch is always good, but Harbour Master is not overly keen on ppl paddling through Cowes; the Solent is very tidal ( 4hr crossing back) and crossing it on a board is like crossing a Motorway on a spacehopper. Crossing the Solent on a paddle board does feel like crossing a motorway on a space hopper. 2/5 would not recommend. Love your videos.

Here in the San Francisco Bay paddle boarding is done by starting at the Gate (up wind) preferably 20kwinds to create swell , a small paddle is used for balance as you ride from swell to swell and travel some eleven miles to Berkeley ca. (downwind) . This is extremely difficult and only the top few athletes can do this. If you are interested you can look up paddle boarding in the San Francisco Bay . Have a great day Henry.

@@dosgos no doubt! I actually met the men who do this , I was walking by them and noticed a foil surfboard in the back of their truck so I spoke with them about what they were doing and was floored by what they said. The board cost 3,500 and the foil another 1,500$ . This was an all day event with many miles traveled by water and car across a few bridges too.

@@henrycartwright3673 Ah, ok. Hehe, I tried the "Round Hayling Island" windsurf race a couple of times approx 34/35 years back. Both times the weather changed and we had to come ashore around halfway, while only the pros were allowed to complete the course. Still good fun though. And camping overnight in my VW bus too! I had a Mistral Superlight, and that just fitted inside the van, while me and my dog Sam used the awning.

Hi, firstly check the footstraps are wide enough to use with boots - if not adjust. Then I like the split toe ones O'Neil pyscho (I'm not sponsored) which have a thin sole so you have good sensitivity.

@henrycartwright3673
@henrycartwright3673 2 ай бұрын
Hi Lee, welcome back. I don't foil actually. I'd say going far is different in a way to touring. Touring requires going upwind and windsurfing off the plane. Anything that cracks that challenge should do the job in mind! The thing with foiling is that the wind range is lower and if you are out the whole day you inevitably have a range of conditions. If you are touring you also find the weather is different as you move down the coast. An interesting debate!

Yes I think a raceboard cannot be beaten for touring. In the Solent you can get away with a short board with a big fin as the surrounding land is low but anywhere with cliffs really needs a longboard so you can get upwind in wind shadows
