First year of the US Pro Challenge we had snagged a souvenir jersey in Colorado Springs. Surrounded by all of the best in the world my son wanted to know who's autograph to get. We sent him over to the broadcast booth for Paul, Phil, and Bob's, and then put the jersey away. Of all of the stuff we have collected over the years, that jersey is still one of the coolest.

When Sam Long first started I didn’t like him much but I think he has matured so much and now he is a great guy and athlete to watch. I’m glad for him and his family. On another note, I agree with Bob about Lionel’s decision of doing another Ironman before Kona. I think is an unnecessary risk.

Such an awesome interview. Great to hear such a refreshing perspective while turning himself inside out for the "W".

We filmed it last Thursday and Sam decided to do Kona on Monday of this week….since 16 or so of the pros are already Kona qualified, Sam should be joining us with Ponchoman at Huggo’s on the Rocks this October!!

Great to hear Sam talk about how happiness and race results aren’t intertwined for him now… I wish some other YouTubing pros wouldn’t tie their mental health and moods to injury status and wins. There’s so much to have gratitude for.

Sam long fan here. Not sure it matters to fans where he finishes as long as his presence is felt. Too bad for IM that he won’t be at Kona! Unlike the T100, I’m not confident that the best of the best are as fully represented as possible at the WC events.

Looks like he changed his mind after this interview as he is now towing the line in Frankfurt for a Kona spot :)

Julie is a remarkably humble athlete who clearly has trained tremendously hard and immersed herself in the Sutto system. And the enormity of her achievement did not go unnoticed by the Swiss NOC - closing ceremony flagged bearer! I look forward to following her progress!
