What a great athlete and personality. She is smart, she is self deprecating and she happens to be the best female mid distance triathlete in the world. I love how she is a sponge for understanding her craft. Immensely impressed by this young woman. I’ll be cheering for her! Do the TT Taylor…. Fly human fly!

Once Hayden (and possibly Alex) moves to 70.3 in another couple of years, he will bring that short-course speed with him and change the game. The guy brought a sprint pace to this race for the fun of it and got a silver medal. Once he adapts to the extra distance people will either need to seriously adapt, or fight for second place….

“What’s the point of going out and running normal” um winning a world title…
@mathewkirk1748Ай бұрын
Because after a couple more 70.3 races he will be adapted to the distance at that pace and then everyone else will be screwed. He knows this which is why he is chill about it for now.
@ad-jm6mdАй бұрын
Men’s 70.3 world titles aren’t going to be easy to get anymore. He’ll definitely get some but this was there for the taking if he just went out at 68 pace. Might not get another chance for a home title and if he does there’ll be more fast runners to deal with. Hope he goes on and wins lots of 70.3 and Ironman titles he’s the man

Bob; Glad You were able to get some comments from yesterday's Talented Podium. The Venue & Race were amazing. P.S. Why do You seem to bring up $$$ / prize money so often in your interviews? We all know there's more $$$ available across the sport especially at the T-100 and Pro Series level. Many of the athletes seem very uncomfortable discussing the topic. Thought it was about the sport & incredible performances🤔
@babbittvilleАй бұрын
Thanks for your note, but I do feel that the fact that the pros can now make good money in triathlon is important. Between Challenge, SuperTri, World Triathlon, Ironman and T-00 this is a great time to be a professional triathlete!
@mysho6317Ай бұрын
@@babbittville Bob, That's not a secret, news or certainly something a Pro being interviewed needs to be reminded of every time they sit down with You (I watch almost every one of Your YT interviews) or other members in the Press. Yes, it's dramatically / shockingly different than before even going back a few years. Yet there should be some sensitivity to those other Pros who are still struggling to make ends meet & definitely Age-Groupers who spend hundreds into thousands of $$$ to participate in a Triathlon event including Entry Fees that fund Pro Prize $$$. I know someone who left the sport for that reason. Also sensitivity to those upper level Pros whose Prize $$ and Sponsorships are significant to say the least - I doubt their Tax Accountants & Agents want that to be an interview topic. Just wish ALL the attention / conversation was on the Preparation, Competition, Performance & Recovery. All the Best☺

Taylor mentioned before that she doesn't like races based in carparks. It's also nice to hear that there is interest in creating more diverse race courses. It would be interesting to break the mould and go back to more varying distances and course types. Let's go old school! That's why IM Nice makes a great race course (he old Long Course Triathlon in Nice was also fairly good.)

I saw Bob at a tiny pool triathlon at Palomar College. He had wrapped his race up and was walking back to his car. We were chatting for a moment when an older lady walked up and asked him if he had raced that day. Bob said Yes. She asked how he did.Bob, in a very disappointed voice said,,,"I won" His humor was lost on the little old lady but it was just so Bob
