Hi. I followed your video and it works great for the 1/10 2wd back tires. I'm having trouble seating the front tires into the rim on the thinner front tires. Any advice?

That's exactly what happens when I did my first set, didn't get wonky thankfully but the glue was inconsistent and heavy so I had lots extra on my tires which didn't look so pretty.

I'm lucky enough to have picked one up before it was discontinued. It is still in the box. I dont yet have the skills yet to fly it. Ive only tried flying so far 1 season and that was about 2 years ago. Life has just been keeping me hostage. I eventually want to get good enough to fly planes, but having come from surface RC for about 6 years makes it hard to get the controls. Also doesnt help that I'm stuck with trial and error as ive only got youtube for help.

Hi Lane. Thanks for watching and for your comments. We have many customers who get into aircraft from an RC surface background. It can be done and you're well ahead of most people who start from scratch because you already know about the left and right reversal when the model is coming toward you. As you know, airplanes have two left and right controls (Aileron and Rudder) that you have to worry about and most people find it helpful to look over their shoulder at the model when it's flying toward them with the controller facing away. It helps keep things straight without having to think so much. If you're teaching yourself, make sure that you pick a good trainer type of model and think of it as a learning tool because it'll probably be quite ugly by the time you're done with it. Pick a big, wide open field with tall grass and hand launch the model. Tall grass acts as a great cushion for hard landings. And, lastly choose a day that is dead calm when the night time wasn't cold so that there aren't many thermals to worry about because the air can get really bumpy and turbulence will be your enemy when you're learning. I would recommend the Hobbyzone Aeroscout S 2.1m RTF (part number HBZ380001) which should be available at any reputable hobby dealer. My link for it is www.pmhobbycraft.ca/hobbyzone-aeroscout-s-21m-rtfbtransmitter-not-incl.html . Good luck Lane, and stick with it. You'll get the hang of it and it'll be very rewarding in the end... Thanks again!

@@PMHobbycraftLtdCalgary I already have the Night Timber X, F18 Hornet, Carbon Z Cessna 150t 2.1, and the F15. The night timber is my "trainer" and i have it bound to a Spektrum DX8. I went to school to be an aircraft mechanic so i am very familiar with flight control surfaces and what they do. Ive already done a few loops with the NTX when i flew it but I'm not sure why i cant get the hang of the controls with the sticks. I have landing pretty well tuned in but the controls are too aggressive compared to what i am used to.

@@SebastianLong It sounds like you're well on your way. Landing is usually the most difficult thing to get used to with any model airplane and with the timber being a tail dragger, it is even more challenging. You may have already done this, but make sure that the pushrods are positioned correctly in the servo horns and control surface horns. I've seen errors from the factory where they're set incorrectly which greatly affects responsiveness. Another thing to try are the Dual Rate and Exponential settings in your DX8. D/R, activated by a switch, limits full travel usually to about 80%. EXPO will still give 100% control but changes the control curve to make it less twitchy around center.
