Ren leaves his art open for everyone's own interpretation. Personally, I think it's about depression and mental health, which he has experienced so drastically. You feel like you can't go on, you're just a shadow of yourself. The chalk outline of you is there, but you're there, dead inside. You're given pills, which bring their own side effects of feeling dead. So you make your own new (bad) habits, whether that's self-medicating of a different kind, alcohol, over-eating, whatever. Those new bad habits allow you to smile big, but that doesn't last and isn't true, anyway .... So we are trapped in our own chalk outlines by allowing ourselves to be taken down these paths, but when you're barely holding on .., standing on your toes in the gallows so you can breathe ... sometimes we can't manage to get out. As to politics - no thanks. I have very definite opinions, but I enjoy reaction videos as a place where I get away from all of that, which I can find everywhere. Especially Ren reaction videos - the Renegades don't all think alike, but we are mostly aligned on being respectful in our right to agree to disagree.

The video is shot on the same outdoor set where Alice in Borderland was filmed (as far as I have been able to find out). All the asphalt and sidewalks are made to replicate the Shibuya crossing, where 2.5 million people pass daily. The rest is digitally added using a green screen. In the XG channel they have uploaded a short of a relay dance where you can see the green backgrounds covering fences and buildings.
