In addition to medals, have a championship belt for every event. Whenever the belt holder loses a race in that event, it goes to the winner of said race. Medals could still be given out as normal.

And I believe the main reason that TV viewership is not as good for events outside the Olympics is because the actual TV schedule for the Olympics is 24/7 and that’s what needs to improve outside the Olympics ….. better tv coverage for all events year around . Watching live ( on tv or in-person) is the most incredible event instead of seeing highlights from a race you already know the result

Races that are not shown on TV cannot be watched on TV. That's what Noah said when asked about GST. He didn't see the point in running a race only 8 people, and maybe a few officials, are aware of. I doubt Grant will watch the 100 & 200.

They forget about injuries that athletes will incur during the season that will affect GSL fields , this and my other comments are my opinions which, may or may not be relevant. Good luck to GSL , I hope it increases popularity in track all over the world

And the best aren’t competing in the GSL …. The top 4 every event are not competing. And there are no field events ! I just hope it makes t&f more popular in the US

It will not make it more popular. It's not on TV. I won't be buying tickets and therefore won't be watching. The masses who only watch The Games will never even hear about GST.

@ I don’t think you understand that social media does help promote the sport and people do go to Track and Field events in the US . I’ve been to a number of track events and the bigger ones with the best athletes are well attended . The GSL will be on TV and that’s what needs to improve , the way events are accessed . And most TV networks in the US are more interested in football , basketball and baseball

@@ZATHURAKEY Noah Lyles didn't sign on with them partially because he didn't think it would be on TV. The organization never had an answer to his question of who's playing it on TV. You seem to think it will be but MJ himself has never even said that, has he?

@ no, they said this event will be televised, they just haven’t said , who that is going to be . That’s the only way they will be able to pay for all the money they are giving the athletes. There is sponsorship but , television coverage will be a must …. My guess is if they don’t get tv coverage that the league may not even get going in 2025 . And they will blame the diamond league if it doesn’t work even though I don’t believe their format is viable for all athletes and with no field events , television money and coverage will also be limited
