You asked all the right questions and Marcos honestly answered all of them. The momentum is building for Grand Slam Track. Can’t wait.

Great interview. I hope Citius has more waiting to unload as we get closer to the first slam.

Great interview! Some of the comments illustrate why the grand slam track format is so stupid We have a transformational year in the 800 m with 1 minute 41 becoming the new 1:43, and as Chris said guys with a legitimate shot at going for the hallowed world record So, are we really dying to see these great athletes depart from their specialty event and mix it up with 1500 specialists? Why? I don’t care if Cole Hocker, Josh, Kerr, or Jakob ever run an 800. Ditto for Arop in 1500! The most ridiculous egocentric element is the 400-800 category. Let me think, seems like Michael Johnson is the last one to play with this? And Juantorena before that. A couple occasions every half century. Does Michael subconsciously want to prove again that he’s the goat on this double? Furthering my rant, how about an idea for the “versatility” category where we can have 100 m 1500 m as the races? Oh boy, Noah Lyles versus Cole Hocker vs. Mr iShow Speed! Can’t wait Also, with all this talk about increasing interest for the “casual fan”, has anyone even studied the opinions and perspectives of the so-called casual fan?

This format will really help the 1500 types most

It’s pretty sick to hear someone Else doing the 800 predictor workout. I always thought my coach was trying to gaslight me into running fast 😂. It’s also the hardest workout ever and it’s only two reps.

I understand the Kosmin test which can be adapted for slower male athletes using the female formula . However, can Marco advise what was his specific warm up for the test as this can be more crucial than the test itself . than you

A warm up with a 10-20 minute jog, running technique drills, and 10-15sec strides up to or just over race pace is probably sufficient

Думаю на 1500м больше шансов у Ваньони Его рекорд на шоссейной миле это доказал. Как выступит Ароп на 1500м мне самому очень интересно. Но судя по его забегам на 1000м, ему не хватает выносливости

Considering how he ran the Paris final, starting in lane 9 and running in lane 2, this man was in sub 1:41 shape. Someone that can run back to back sub 51 second laps is very dangerous in the 1500. He also posted an impressive half marathon recently

I'm not seeing the benefits of prepping for the WC by running GST against Kerr, Nuguse and Hocker who are all 1500m guys. (imo It would have made more sense for them to sign up Hobbs Kessler.) Unless Wanyonyi, Sedjati, Hoppel, Tual or maybe Nijel Amos sign up as challengers in the GST he would have had better competition running in the Diamond Leagues.

WC is in Sept. He’ll be invited to enough deep 800 races (including the DL) to get his reps in.
